Gratitude.

That was one of the community-driven words of the night as we gathered to celebrate the Sue Zelickson scholarship program.

We are grateful for people’s support and recognition of our dear Sue Z.

The WWRC community is grateful for the connections forged and pathways laid by Sue so that we would continue to gather in a mission-driven way.

Our scholarship students shared their gratitude for the financial support of their educations along with their delight to be a part of the WWRC community. Being seen as a whole person and invited to learn alongside current practitioners in your aspired field is a powerful thing.

This past week marked the end of the inaugural “Carry It Forward” month in honor of Sue Zelickson. Women Who Really Cook honored our founder with a foodie fantasy hosted by The Lynhall with sweets and savories donated by Diane’s Place, Honey & Rye, Chowgirls, D’Amico, The Grocers Table, and Cafe Latte with sips from US Foods (Sue’s favorite root beer floats!), SMB Collective, Pryes Brewing, and the Libation Project.

Our current scholarship students were the stars of the evening. As the chair of the scholarship program, it was especially inspiring to hear about the impact of the scholarships themselves along with the support of the WWRC community. We’re there for their education and professional development.

Being there was a “pinch me” moment.

What a gift to be able to pay this forward.

Thus far, we’ve raised over $20,000 to support our scholarship programs. This outpouring of support helps us to lay a foundation to ensure the existence of the Sue Zelickson Scholarships for generations of women to come.

Read more (and perhaps donate?) at https://womenwhoreallycook.com/sue-z-scholarship-fund-contribute

Thank you for your support in helping us to carry Sue’s legacy forward.

Thank you to our scholarship students for being you and sharing yourselves with @womenwhoreallycook

I’m still smiling when I think about the people that filled that space and all of us working together.

The Women Who Really Cook, Carry It Forward Fundraiser was a massive success! It was incredible to see so many local foodie brands come together to honor Sue Zelickson & support her Scholarship Fund. Wonderful to meet and hear the stories of the students impacted by this fund.

It’s truly amazing what it looks like when women support women!! Sue would be so proud, CHEERS!

⭐️ The space was generously donated by @thelynhall

⭐️ All the food & desserts were also donated by so many, it’s hard to recall every business that was there! @damicohospitality @dianesplacemn @the_smb_collective @honeyandrye @thegrocerstable

⭐️ One of our favorite apps was the edible art by @chowgirlscatering Well done!!

⭐️ The raffle prizes were all donated and so good. Obviously buying lots of tickets helps your chances to win, if you’re as generous as our owner, Peggy, you buy MANY tickets and walk away with 2 prizes!

⭐️ Just some of the raffle prize donations came from: @stpaulbagelry @cherylsnutbutters @yumkitchen @lovejoysbrand @hummingbirdartisanfoods @mrskellystea @burntsugarmn @xoxocolatimn_chocolates @cafelattemn @heirloomcollaborative @thesaladgirl @nordicwareusa @meat_musings

Whatever it looks like for you, have the wedding that feels like YOURS.

Because there’s something about looking around a room and seeing all of the people who have loved you through different seasons of life, gathered together to celebrate the beginning of your next one.

The people who raised you, the friends who grew up with you, the family you were born into, and the family you’ve chosen along the way.

All in one place, at one time, celebrating something pretty incredible.

And while the flowers will eventually fade, the music will stop, and the day itself will come to an end, the feeling of being surrounded by that much love is something you’ll carry with you long after.

It doesn’t have to be extravagant and it doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.

It just has to feel like YOU 🤍

Join Women Who Really Cook on Tuesday, October 13 at @thelynhall for the WWRC Carry It Forward Fundraiser, an evening of connection, generosity, and community benefiting the Sue Zelickson Scholarship Fund.

The fundraiser marks the culmination of our month-long Carry It Forward initiative, inspired by WWRC founder Sue Zelickson and the way she lived: making connections, opening doors, seeing the potential in people, and helping bring their ideas to life.

On October 13, we’ll carry her example forward by helping open doors for the next generation.

Throughout the evening, we will shine a light on the remarkable young women who have received the Sue Zelickson Scholarship. We’ll hear about their studies, where they hope to go next, and how our community can help them get there through mentorship, connections, encouragement, opportunities, or financial support.

Come enjoy a casual, cocktail-style gathering with appetizers and desserts from local food partners including @damicohospitality @chowgirlscatering @cafelattemn @dianesplacemn and @thegrocerstable , a cash bar, and plenty of time to connect with friends and peers from across Minnesota’s food and hospitality community.

📅 Tuesday, October 13 | 6–9 PM
📍 The Lynhall Lyndale | Minneapolis
🎟️ Registration is open! Link in bio.

WWRC members, friends, and the broader food and hospitality community are all welcome.

**Space is limited, so register early!**

We hope you’ll join us and carry it forward together. 🩷

it’s been quiet over here... but not behind the scenes!

it feels like it’s been a little while since i’ve posted on social media, so i just wanted to say hello and remind everyone that i’m still here!

the last few months have been some of the busiest, most exciting, and most life-changing i’ve ever experienced. i got to marry the love of my life in sedona with our immediate families by our sides, then celebrate our wedding reception back home with our friends and extended family a couple of months later. somewhere in between all of that, busy season arrived in full force, making this one of the fullest and most rewarding seasons of my life.

behind the scenes, my days have been filled with sessions, weddings, editing, emails, planning, and all of the little things that come with running a small business. more nights than not, i’m still sitting at my computer long after midnight, pulling all-nighters as i work through gallery after gallery. every photo tells part of someone’s story, and that’s never something i want to rush. no matter how full this season gets, every gallery receives the same level of care, attention, and intention because that’s what each of you deserves.

to every client i’ve had the privilege of working with so far this season: thank you. thank you for trusting me, for your patience, and for allowing me to preserve some of the most meaningful moments of your lives. your support allows me to keep doing what i love, and i truly don’t take that for granted.

and to everyone i’ll be photographing throughout the rest of this season... i genuinely cannot wait to meet you, celebrate with you, and create something extraordinary together!

i’ve only got a handful of openings left on my calendar this season, and i would absolutely love to work with a few more of you before another incredible year comes to a close.

if you’re hoping to be one of the final additions to my 2026 season, head to the link in my bio, click the “contact” tab on my website, and fill out an inquiry form!

thank you for being here, cheering me on, and supporting this big dream of mine. it means more than you’ll ever know 🤍

I’ve been keeping a big project hush hush on here… we’ve been planning a wedding over the last 7 months!

One of the most important parts of this for me was getting to spend more time with those closest to me, so I asked 5 of my friends and family members to collaborate on custom designs to wear for the day.

For now I just want to share a few of the beautiful film photos @mwphotocreativeco took of the day, but I’m planning to share more about the dresses themselves (including 2 of my own) and the inspiration and process behind them in the coming weeks.

I feel so lucky that this was able to be such a relaxing and happy day for me and my husband and to have been able to incorporate a lifelong passion into this experience.

I also couldn’t recommend the people we worked with more. They brought such joy and energy to such a fun day!
