Join Women Who Really Cook (@womenwhoreallycook) on Tuesday, October 13 at @thelynhall for the WWRC Carry It Forward Fundraiser, an evening of connection, generosity, and community benefiting the Sue Zelickson Scholarship Fund.

The fundraiser marks the culmination of our month-long Carry It Forward initiative, inspired by WWRC founder Sue Zelickson and the way she lived: making connections, opening doors, seeing the potential in people, and helping bring their ideas to life.

On October 13, we’ll carry her example forward by helping open doors for the next generation.

Throughout the evening, we will shine a light on the remarkable young women who have received the Sue Zelickson Scholarship. We’ll hear about their studies, where they hope to go next, and how our community can help them get there through mentorship, connections, encouragement, opportunities, or financial support.

Come enjoy a casual, cocktail-style gathering with appetizers and desserts from local food partners including @damicohospitality @chowgirlscatering @cafelattemn @dianesplacemn and @thegrocerstable , a cash bar, and plenty of time to connect with friends and peers from across Minnesota’s food and hospitality community.

it’s been quiet over here... but not behind the scenes!

it feels like it’s been a little while since i’ve posted on social media, so i just wanted to say hello and remind everyone that i’m still here!

the last few months have been some of the busiest, most exciting, and most life-changing i’ve ever experienced. i got to marry the love of my life in sedona with our immediate families by our sides, then celebrate our wedding reception back home with our friends and extended family a couple of months later. somewhere in between all of that, busy season arrived in full force, making this one of the fullest and most rewarding seasons of my life.

behind the scenes, my days have been filled with sessions, weddings, editing, emails, planning, and all of the little things that come with running a small business. more nights than not, i’m still sitting at my computer long after midnight, pulling all-nighters as i work through gallery after gallery. every photo tells part of someone’s story, and that’s never something i want to rush. no matter how full this season gets, every gallery receives the same level of care, attention, and intention because that’s what each of you deserves.

to every client i’ve had the privilege of working with so far this season: thank you. thank you for trusting me, for your patience, and for allowing me to preserve some of the most meaningful moments of your lives. your support allows me to keep doing what i love, and i truly don’t take that for granted.

and to everyone i’ll be photographing throughout the rest of this season... i genuinely cannot wait to meet you, celebrate with you, and create something extraordinary together!

i’ve only got a handful of openings left on my calendar this season, and i would absolutely love to work with a few more of you before another incredible year comes to a close.

An elevated dinner party vibe - our favorite!

We started with a Vietnamese tea ceremony, followed by a street food inspired cocktail hour while our team did a room flip for the American ceremony (and the bridal party switched into American ceremony attire!)

@hiveandhollow created the most STUNNING florals that were not only vibrant, but cheeky and fun with fruit on tables. We completed the look with wavy chartreuse menus, colorful candles, and silk lanterns for a cohesive design and experience.

i’ve been a little quiet on here lately… and for the best reason 💍

the last two weeks were spent traveling across the country, getting married, and soaking in every second of the kind of moments you wish you could bottle up forever. and i can say now, fully understanding what everyone means when they say it… it truly was the best day in the world.

stepping away, even briefly, reminded me why this work means so much to me. being on the other side of it — feeling every emotion, every little in-between moment — it just deepened everything.

getting to experience a day that monumental, that full of meaning and love, changed something in me in the most beautiful way. my wedding work will forever hold a deeper weight now, because i’ve lived it. i know what it feels like to be in those moments, to want to remember them exactly as they were.

i’m officially back in fargo, catching up on emails, messages, and inquiries, and i cannot even explain how excited i am to be here again. to create, to connect, to step into your stories alongside you.

one of the very first things i photograph when i arrive on a wedding day is the details. not because they are trendy or pretty for social media, but because they tell an important story.

every couple spends months choosing these elements. the rings. the veil. the invitations. the small items that come together to encapsulate the feelings of the day. they might seem small in the moment, but they are the things that make your wedding uniquely yours. they reflect the style of the day, the thought behind every decision, and the touches that quietly shape the entire experience.

the truth is, these are often the things people forget first. years from now, you might remember the way the day felt, but not exactly what your jewelry looked like, the stationery you chose together, or the tiny details that completed your look. photographs are what bring those memories back to life and preserve the care that went into every choice.

the white dress was on, the room was buzzing, and bekka couldn’t stop smiling because she was finally getting ready to marry her person.

every moment that morning felt like a mix of excitement and emotion — friends and family fixing the little details, deep breaths by the window, lipstick being pressed on with an excited smile as reality slowly set in. this was the calm before the celebration, and it was filled with so much joy!

bekka’s sunshine shows up in every room she walks into, and her bright, beautiful smile says everything about the kind of soul she carries — warm, kind, and full of love. she is just as stunning on the inside as she is on the outside, and i feel so lucky to know both her and brad, and to have been trusted with capturing these moments on such an important day in their lives.
