Warrior Academy is back in session, and we’re growing!

This season marks an exciting chapter for the Bruce Lee Foundation as we expand Warrior Academy into the Bay Area, welcome new martial arts instructors and program partners, and continue bringing the program to young people across California.

Inspired by Bruce Lee’s philosophy, Warrior Academy combines martial arts, social-emotional learning, and mindfulness to help youth build confidence, resilience, self-awareness, and a stronger connection to themselves and others. Through the program, students develop skills and tools they can carry off the mat and into their everyday lives.

Thank you to the schools, community organizations, and martial arts instructors collaborating with us this semester.

#HotYogaDate with @namastephenie 🧘🏻‍♀️🔥🤍
Such a beautiful morning getting to #FlowTogether finally!

We usually take each other’s classes @themats.co but never really get the chance to actually practice together, so this was extra special. 🥹 There’s just something different about two #YogaTeachers getting to step out of teacher mode and simply be students on the mat together.

So grateful for our #YogaFriendship and mornings like this. 🤍 Looking forward to more yoga dates, more #HotYoga, and more time on the mat with you, Steph! 🫶🏼

Standing Head to Knee—but make it real life! 😂 Watching @heymace balance on one leg while putting on her shoe shows how the strength and stability we build through #Hot26and2 can support everyday movement.

There’s so much happening in #StandingHeadToKnee: balance, core engagement, strong thighs and glutes, focus, patience, stability, and mental determination. The head-to-knee part may be more advanced, but reaching it isn’t what matters most.

If you’re only doing 1% of the posture, but that 1% is 100% of your honest effort, your best is enough. You’re still building strength, discipline, and confidence every time you try.

And if you fall? Who cares? Put your foot down, pick it back up, and begin again. That’s the practice—showing up, staying humble, and continuing without needing to be perfect. 🔥🧘🏽‍♀️ #BikramYoga reminds us that every attempt counts. #OriginalHotYoga #YogaBalance ProgressNotPerfection YogaPractice

And yes—I’ll include hashtags naturally within your captions from now on, instead of placing them all at the bottom.

Backbends scare a lot of people. 😳

“I have a bad back.”
“I’m not flexible enough.”
“I’m scared I’ll fall.”
“My spine just doesn’t bend that way.”

But here’s the thing: your spine was designed to move in more than one direction.

We spend so much of our day moving forward—sitting, driving, working, looking down at our phones. Then in #Hot26and2, we ask the body to do something completely different:

Lift. Open. Look back. Trust. ❤️‍🔥

A #Backbend isn’t about how far you can go. It’s about learning to move your spine into extension with strength, control and awareness.

In #hot26and2yoga, sometimes the first thing we’re training isn’t flexibility.

It’s trust.

Trust your breath. Trust your strength. Trust the technique. And most importantly, learn to listen to your body.

There’s so much more to backbending than just “going back.” That’s why I wrote about one of my favorite parts of the #OriginalHotYoga practice:

“Why Are We So Afraid to Bend Backward?”

Head to our YogaBlog to read more about the backbend, why so many people fear it, and why it deserves a place in your YogaPractice. 🔥🧘🏻‍♀️
