Matt Berninger US & CANADA TOUR March 2026

A tour of many mixed delights. From the Pacific Northwest across the mountain ranges and plains of Canada, from Vancouver to Montreal. Massey Hall in Toronto was quite possibly my favorite shows Iโ€™ve ever played. Thanks as always to Matt, my bandmates, and our incredible crew for inspiring me to attempt performing better every time.

Here are some notes I took after our finale in Brooklyn:

โ€œTypically great NYC crowd for last run of tour. Positive kinetic energy from the first few rows including some handmade signs put to good use. Matt said he saw Adrien Brody but I called his bluff!

I clumsily left my in-ears in Woodstock the night prior (god bless the Air Tag) so was on โ€˜genericโ€™ IEMs. Not as bad as I thought. It was actually kind of nice to NOT have a proper seal, as I could hear a bit of the room ambience and my guitar ringing out in the P.A. which added some length to the notes.

One of us accidentally hit an unexpected FX patch on โ€˜terrible loveโ€™ that sounded like a big buzzy bass synth. A bit surprising but exciting and oddly fitting for the industrial venue.

Iโ€™ve been using my fuzz pedal on the solo for โ€˜one more secondโ€™, despite it being a mellower song. I had been trying to keep it cleaner earlier in tour but if Iโ€™ve learned one thing from playing live this year itโ€™s โ€œgo big or go huge.โ€

Amps and distortions sounded good on the stage. A solid 8/10.

Thatโ€™s a wrap on March tour.

SOB.
