Networking as a creative PT 3 📝

This moment will live rent free in my head and ultimately help direct how I move when entering new rooms and meeting new people. I wish I could get it back but it is what it is. 🫡

Last week I got to be a part of something very special with @thenetfw . For the past 3-4 years I’ve had the incredible honor of photographing some of the most brave and resilient women I’ve ever known. These are women who have made the brave decision to look a broken cycle in the face and knock it over each and every day. They are survivors of human trafficking and they are heros for every generation to come behind them. @thenetfw helps, loves, mentors, and brings humanity to their lives as they spend years in a government run program called Rise. It takes them 3-4 years to finish the very intensive program. Next month they graduate as the class of 2026. Last week we took their cap and gown photos. A lady once told me after looking at her photo in the back of my camera “Wow, I really do look healthy. That’s beautiful, I really have changed so much”. I had never heard that response before from a woman seeing herself in a photo. Another woman said “I’ve never graduated from anything. This is my first time” as we place a cap and tassel on her head. This is one of those organizations doing the good work when no one is looking. They don’t have to purchase caps, gowns, have a cap making party, have certificates, special lunches…etc, but they do because they are their biggest advocates. Don’t we all deserve to have someone to advocate and celebrate us? @melissaice (the founder) spoke with them and everyone in the room was brought to tears to hear her testimony and heart for these women as well as the women in her life. I am excited to see these ladies walk the stage next month. This type of photography is my most important work…sharing stories to bring awareness, people together and maybe even just to show someone that they really are healthier now than they have ever been before.

Yesterday at The Net, we went beyond physical self-defense. 🥊

We discussed survival, purpose, and three 3SM frameworks designed to create opportunities for a better life moving forward.

Because self-defense doesn't begin when something becomes physical. It begins with awareness, boundaries, composure, and understanding the choices available to you.

The goal of 3SM is to help individuals move from a victim to a victorious mindset, and ultimately live a life that isn't driven by fear.

Grateful to The Net for giving me the opportunity to bring 3SM into the room, and grateful to every woman who participated.

A System. Not a place.

We had an amazing Lunch and Learn with our charity partners last week! This was an opportunity for us to share how we generate funds for these non-profits.
💡 When a new Thigbe client signs up, they choose a charity partner to support.
💡 20% of our small fee goes straight to that non-profit.

Strength is multiplied through partnership. 🤝

Today at the 5th Annual Female Survivors of Violence Conference, I had the opportunity to connect with Abby Phiffer from The NET, an incredible organization committed to disrupting human trafficking and helping survivors rebuild their lives.

I'm honored to share that this August I'll be leading a 3SM Self Defense & Composure workshop for their community.

With 3SM, the belief is that self defense is about far more than physical techniques. It's about building awareness, composure under pressure, confidence, discernment, and the resilience to move through life with strength.

I'm grateful for organizations like The NET that invest deeply in restoration and empowerment. I can't wait to bring the 3SM methods alongside the incredible work they're already doing.
Here's to equipping more people to become safe, strong, and free.

On Monday, Molly Morgan decided she wanted to have her very first lemonade stand, not to earn money for herself, but to raise money for Justice & Rosie’s mommy through @theworthy.co and @thenetfw .

She talked about it all week long, even getting little lemons painted on her nails to celebrate. 🍋

For sweet hours, our girls had the most perfect 90s-style summer afternoon. They poured endless cups of lemonade (and somehow drank just as many themselves 😂), greeted every customer with the biggest smiles, played on the extra turf in our driveway, snuck plenty of candy, laughed until their tummies hurt, and wrapped up the day exactly how summer should end… jumping in the pool.

Watching these little girls choose kindness, generosity, and joy was the sweetest reminder that you are never too young to make a difference.

Thanks to the incredible love and support of our family, friends, and neighbors, they raised an amazing $341 in just two hours! Then one incredibly generous couple surprised us by matching the donations and bringing the total to $500.

A hot Saturday afternoon, a lemonade stand, and a handful of determined little girls became something so much bigger than lemonade. It became a beautiful reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big impact.

I’m just so incredibly proud of these precious girls. 🍋💛
