Kenya Highlights! 🇰🇪✈️📸

That’s a wrap on an unforgettable trip to Kenya with my brother and parents.

My Dad last visited Kenya 41 years ago and my Mum had never been. Both have African roots with my Dad’s father being born in Kenya before moving to India and then the UK and my Mum’s mother being both in Uganda before moving back to India.

Does that make me part African? I mean it would certainly explain the love for African cuisine and rhythm on the dance floor…

I last went to Kenya 4 years ago for a friend’s wedding and fell in love with the country and couldn’t wait to go back.

Sun. Animals. Food. The people.

People are so friendly here despite many facing hardships. The divide between the wealthy and poor is huge. There is a lot of deprivation BUT Kenya is a fast growing and developing nation and it’s fantastic to see just how much growth there has been even since I last visited let alone 41 years ago since my father did.

Swipe through for some highlights from Nairobi, Masai Mara, Mombasa and Diani Beach.

I know I will be back someday soon 🙏🏽

Discovering @coffeeandplantke was a life saver ☕️🌱

I think I must have spent most of my time in Nairobi here when I was outside of my Dad’s aunt’s house.

Tried all of their signature coffees with oat milk. Had a few of their breakfast and lunch offerings too.

Also where else was I going to get vegan Pain au Chocolat in Kenya? 🥐

Will need to come back for dinner one day 🙏🏽

I will be doing separate posts on all the Vegan food I enjoyed in Kenya. Definitely didn’t go hungry and managed to easily maintain my muscle these 2 weeks. Might have gained an extra kilo which was expected given how much I was eating 😂 but that’s on me haha.

Thankfully I had access to gyms throughout the trip and just my luck that this place happens to be right next to an amazing gym…

The best gym in Nairobi? @theburnclubke 🔥💪🏽

I had googled a few gyms but found this one completely by accident when I was having coffee at @coffeeandplantke and I knew this was going to be the training spot when I was in Nairobi.

Great range of equipment and space, clean facilities and only 1500 KES for a day pass.

And just like that, Villa Barizi is open.

A beautiful afternoon of good food, flowing drinks, music, laughter, new connections and a whole lot of celebration.

We opened our doors surrounded by the people who made the first chapter of Villa Barizi feel so special.

This is what we imagined when we said Where Every Moment Is Curated.A place to gather, connect, celebrate and create memories.

Here’s to the beginning.

Welcome to Villa Barizi.

... New coordinates unlocked!☀️✈️🇹🇿🙌🏽🥹 ...

Found myself in Zanzibar, where everything slows down and the ocean sets the pace. Zanzibar has always been a feeling and not a destination, and experiencing it through @Black2zanzibar was something truly unique.

Here’s everything I experienced: ⬇️

• Day 1: Coming To Africa Gala - over the top Afrocentric inspired looks down the red carpet!
• 🛥️Day 2: Freedom Tide Yacht Day - six yachts carrying a bunch of melanated travelers across the Indian Ocean for the ultimate Juneteenth celebrations eating amazing seafood, sip on cocktails, vibe with multiple DJs and more.
 • 🌊Day 3: Big beach club finale +Zanzibar Diaspora Investment Summit - Learnt how I can invest in Zanzibar before taking over Zanzibar‘s biggest beach club with local performances, sections, signature drinks, contests, hookah and more!

📍@Black2zanzibar - a movement that is changing perspectives, building bridges, bringing people home, and making history. 📸: @gilberttunjeh.worldwide @gilberttunjeh |
