🇩🇪 BERLIN FOOD DUMP 🇩🇪

iya! small break from me while I've been moving house etc but I just got back from a lil trip to berlin and I have to tell you all about it 🥰

1 - me about to dive into pastry 2/3 from @thesanctuaryberlin 🥐 10/10 no notes

2 - more pastries from @thesanctuaryberlin - the best pastries I've ever eaten, filled to the brim 🥹

3 - a triple scoop wonder from @tribecaicecream 🍦 I had pistachio, strawb cream and oat milk straciatella. beautiful and excellent cover from the storm ☔️🙈

4 - the berlin ve-gang at the east side gallery 🥰 @stockportvegan @theoverdramaticvegan @groov3gan (travelling with fellow vegans is the best ever)

5 - epic (vg) doner kebab at @voener_berlin with fries and the best peanut sauce ever 🥙😍

6 - tofu and shiitake hand pulled noodles 🍜 from @wencheng_handpullednoodles with smashed cucumber salad and sichuan tofu bao - this food was mega, never had noodles like this - cool vibe too

7 - all the doughnuts @brammibalsdonuts - an excellent vegan doughnut chains 🍩 I had strawb shortcake and wish I'd also got the @oatly soft serve alas it was morning!

8 - seitan curryvurst 🌭 from @yoyofoodworld - this plate was €6.50!!!! SO cheap, so delish. added some peanut sauce and also a small tofu side 👀 cheap n cheerful, tasty scran

9 - tofu scramble at @no_milk_today_berlin - this was an excellent brunch dish, with smoked and reg tofu and with lovely sundried toms and bread. served with a vanilla soy iced latte for a happy me 😍

10 - quick shout out to the plant mcnuggets at mcdonalds. these were the best nuggs I've ever had 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

overall if you are thinking about berlin, go! the most vegan friendly city I've visited and just a whole vibe 🩷

the big question is, where next???

Apparently Stockport's the new Berlin, so I went to the actual Berlin with my mates to see what all the fuss is about 😉🇩🇪

Deets:
1️⃣ Vöner-teller at @voener_berlin plus peanut sauce which seems to be everywhere and maybe the greatest German food invention haha

7️⃣ Currywurst and pommes at @yoyofoodworld and more peanut sauce
8️⃣ Ice cream huns at @greenscoopvegan where I chose peanut butter salted caramel (have you sensed the peanut butter theme yet?)

Berlin is the most vegan-friendly place I've ever been 💚 It's a flipping utopia! Fully vegan places everywhere and loads of actually inventive plant based options. Well done, Berlin 🥹👏🏽

🌱 VERY VEGAN DAYS OUT - CHESTER 🌱

episode two of my new series #veryvegandaysout where I'm going to document days out which involve me visiting somewhere within easy reach (public transport only) of manchester to go and support some vegan independents to support and share with you!

🍃 chester because it is my nearest closest city since relocating temporarily, and because it has loads of vegan places to eat as well as history, culture, shopping and more 😍 a very cute place for a day trip or weekend in general! this time Ellie @theoverdramaticvegan came along with me 🥰

🚊 return train travel from manchester piccadilly costs £8.75 off peak with a railcard, it would be closer to £15 without but still pretty reasonable for a day trip -
of course you could always drive if you have a car as it isn't too far

🌱 we visited @planet_doughnut for coffee and doughnut 🍩 (vegan friendly) @shrubchester for a drink 🍹 @pink_lettuce_chester for lunch @newchestermarket @veganhousefoods for a snack and we also stopped by @fika_chester where Ellie got a croissant 🥐 to take home

💎 chester is definitely a vegan haven so def worth a trip

Seasoned with liquid smoke, @deliciou bac’n seasoning, a dash of soy sauce, red pepper, gem lettuce, sesame seeds and @sriracha_fg mayo 😜

Wake up and start the morning off right with @theoverdramaticvegan's Vegan Breakfast ☀️ Scrambled tofu over 2 bagels, with sliced baby tomatoes, spinach, vegan bacon and a drizzle of sriracha mayo 🤤

Last of the Veganuary meals! 🥲

My final trip out to try the Veganuary 🌱 specials in MCR was with @theoverdramaticvegan to @duciestreet, and as we booked in on a Tues-Thurs, we also bagged 50% off our food to sweeten things even more - nice!

After The Refuge which I posted about previously, DSW is my next go-to in Manchester; whether grabbing a coffee and doing a bit if work from collaborative lounge space in the day, or indulging with friends in the restaurant 's well-planned small plates in the evening. The place is gorgeously chic, with a great chilled, adult vibe.

I had:
🌽 Sweetcorn coriander fritter with salsa bandera
🍄 Hoisin oyster mushroom bao, spring onion and sriracha aioli

And @theoverdramaticvegan had:
🥕 Ras el hanout roasted carrot kofta with beetroot hummus, vegan feta and pickled cucumber
🌮 Black bean tostada with salsa bandera and coriander

The fritters were delicious and luckily on the main menu (which has a fair few vegan options already), so no need to say goodbye to these after January 🙌🏽

The hoisin sauce on the mushroom bao was bang-on, but sadly the oyster mushroom themselves were a bit too tough and chewy for me personally. I'm only just getting into mushrooms, so a bit much for me, but I thought I'd try.

🎶 I'VE GOT VIBE ON IT 🎶
Vegan and gluten free pancakes!!

Safe to say our trip to the fully plant based @the.vibe.cafe in Liverpool did not miss the mark.

I had:
🥛Snickers Shake
Banana, peanut butter, cocoa, maca, dates and coconut milk.
🥞Power Me Up Pancakes
Gluten free pancakes with berry compote, fresh fruit, vanilla ice cream and maple syrup.

The tart yet creamy topping really complimented the pancakes, and didn't make me feel like a lead balloon afterwards. The Snickers Shake was light and frothy, with a perfect sweetness that luckily didn't feel OTT with my brunch.

I went with @theoverdramaticvegan @plantbasedpiggie and @groov3gan who had the Hash Stack and Veggs Benny (both with fake egg), plus Lavender, Pink Velvet and Hug in a Mug lattes.

At the Vibe Cafe you'll find an array of delicious food and drinks from a vast plant-based menu, set up in a cute dining area, with attentive and friendly staff.

What more could you want 💚

Finally made it to Liverpool for a festive day out with 4/5s of the vegals @theoverdramaticvegan @plantbasedpiggie and @stockportvegan - we missed @vegan_marge who was on a small Spanish jaunt 💖

We went charity and vintage shopping in @cowvintage and @popboutiqueliverpool 🛍️
