I needed to pause after the race and sit in the afterglow of ADT LDN. I’ve been privileged to stand at many start lines, but none stirred as much desire as this one. It resonates deeply with my own ethos. As co-founder of an all-women’s running movement, @thepackrunning, I feel the relevance of this space keenly. It is a deliberate effort to see women enabled, and a reminder of our power and the collective impact we can drive when we mobilise.

The energy at the race village was palpable, and it didn’t come only from the excitement of leaving it all on the course. It felt like an exhale, a space built for us and run by women, from security to refreshments, lavatory management to marshalling. From start to finish, we celebrated one another: courtesies exchanged in the starting pens, grace extended on the road, heads-ups on attire malfunctions, compliments on cool race combos, high-fives, glitter squad collabs and inter-cultural exchanges.

It was the most quintessentially feminine experience, and it extended beyond the race to sum up our whole stay.

To the women I shared the experience with @tarika22 @vuyelwasithole_ @phutimojela @jadeleaf_ @fifitherunner who brought warmth, endless laughs and a reprieve from the realities of day-to-day life. Ngiyabonga.

It was girlhood revived in its truest and purest form.

ADT was my third international finish line this year, and every one has ended the same way: shoulder to shoulder with an incredible woman, smiling and basking in our shared experience and combined achievement. This is what fulfils me, my tiny contribution to the sport and the people who have changed my life.

Thank you @nikerunning for making this experience a reality, and thank you to the thousands of women who laced up at ADT London and gave me one of my most memorable experiences. Though it’s not always easy, I would choose being a woman time and time again. May we continue to embrace, engage and empower one another, always 🇿🇦🇬🇧💥

From start lines to finish lines, @nikerunning put on a massive show for women in running. And I simply don’t have enough words to adequately articulate this experience. Out of body. Electrifying. Thrilling. Nothing short of extraordinary.

I’ve wanted to be part of the Nike After Dark Tour since its launch, and being here felt like a kiss on the forehead by the universe. ✨

Women cheering on women? Come on now! Women given the platform to showcase their athleticism, their strength, and their love for the sport. Legendary stuff.

Bringing women from all walks of life together on a global stage to celebrate the sport, take up space, and reaffirm our place in running? What a powerful thing to witness.

And for us back home, this experience carries an even deeper meaning. With women’s safety being such an urgent conversation, it’s a reminder that the work starts in our own communities. Creating spaces where women of all paces, abilities, and athletic ambitions can show up, feel safe, and belong.

To my home crew, @run_tell_that, words will never be enough to express my gratitude for consistently holding the torch and championing safety in our daily runs.

And @thepackrunning , thank you for building a community that fosters belonging and champions women in running.

From our local streets to the world stage, women belong here. And we deserve to run freely, safely and unapologetically.

@womenshalf , we carry that same baton, continuing to hold space for women in South Africa’s race calendar. Because the work doesn’t end when the finish line is crossed. It continues in the communities we build and the spaces we make safer for those who come after us.

Some runs are about gaining more mileage. Others remind you how far you’ve come.

Running with @thepackrunning will always feel like coming home. A community of women who do more than just run together. We grow together, cheer each other on, celebrate each other’s wins, show up for one another, and quite literally do life together. There’s something so special about being surrounded by women who genuinely want to see each other win.

It’s such a surreal feeling to look around at the women you’ve been running with for the longest time and realise that, somewhere between the kilometres, the conversations, the laughs, and the countless runs, you’ve all become part of each other’s lives in ways that go far beyond running.

To @thebisishow , thank you for being a blessing to not only myself but to everyone who has the privilege of meeting and experiencing your awesomeness. To many more years of prosperity, joy, good wine 🍷 and serene moments in your beautiful garden.

And to @thepackrunning thank you for being a constant reminder that we don’t have to do it all alone.
Here’s to growing, running, celebrating, and doing life together one kilometre at a time❤️
