Ty Herndon shares one of the most devastating moments from his memoir tour. A country-boy redneck dad approached Ty after a performance of “God or the Gun” and told him about the transgender daughter he had at 16. The dad said “because of how I was raised”, “I hated my ‘son’”. He drove her 200 miles away and dropped her off. Shortly after, she was dead.

In tears, Ty tells the audience: “Don’t do that to your kids.”

The scariest part of considering suicide isn't the noise. It's the peace.

Ty Herndon describes what suicidal thinking actually sounds like from the inside. The lies it tells. The strange calm that arrives. The "no need to keep going" sentence that is the warning sign, not the comfort it pretends to be.

He survived. EP 08 of The Patrick Custer Show is the full conversation about how.

Content note: discussion of suicidal thinking and survival.

@anniebosko on @thepatrickcustershow shares mental health & success wisdom.
Self‑improvement truths: rejection is “not yet” & your time will come.

Swipe through for some real talk: Don’t take things personal. Every “no” is just a “not yet,” so keep your blinders on and do you. When you show up every day to become your best self, your time will come - maybe in a way that looks different than everyone else’s. That’s when the odds of success stack in your favor.

If this resonates, share it, tag a friend, and follow @thepatrickcustershow for more conversations on mental health, self‑development and purpose.
