“They showed up at my house and told me I was no longer in the group.” 💔

For nearly two decades, the official story was that Michael Passons left the multi-platinum group Avalon to “pursue other interests.” The truth was much darker.

22 years ago, Michael Passons was pushed out of Avalon, the Grammy nominated Christian music group he helped build. Last week, Testify to Love hit #1 on the iTunes Christian charts again, this time with Michael’s name back on the track with Ty Herndon & Melissa Green.

Ty Herndon shares one of the most devastating moments from his memoir tour. A country-boy redneck dad approached Ty after a performance of “God or the Gun” and told him about the transgender daughter he had at 16. The dad said “because of how I was raised”, “I hated my ‘son’”. He drove her 200 miles away and dropped her off. Shortly after, she was dead.

In tears, Ty tells the audience: “Don’t do that to your kids.”
