It’s about COMMUNITY. 💚

We’re meeting at Sutton Park for Brum’s Big Community Walk — a chance to get outside, move our bodies, meet new people, connect with some of the businesses behind our city and just enjoy being together.

National Play Day was all about celebrating the power of play!

Last weekend we had the privilege of being part of Sandwell Council’s Summer Festival, where children explored the endless possibilities of loose parts play. Using everyday materials, they built, created, imagined, solved problems and worked together, all through child-led play.

Loose parts play shows that you don’t need expensive equipment to create meaningful experiences. By giving children the freedom to explore, take risks, be creative and lead their own play, we help build confidence, communication and imagination.

Here’s to celebrating play, curiosity and giving every child the opportunity to learn through fun.

Happy National Play Day! 🎉

What a day!!

Friday was the first EVER Play Makers Brum....and we absolutely loved being part of it! Us, @roam_kids , @magic_of_play.ltd and play people from across the Midlands came together. There was reflection, celebration, advocacy, challenge, and planning- and tons of sharing ideas + emails over sandwiches in the sunshine.

What a joy to spend a day with people so invested in making things better for our city, our region and our children.

Huge thanks to everyone that came, and shared so generously.

Throwing it back to Soul Food, session 2. It was a feast for the body and soul!

The theme was ”Don’t Worry About a Thing”, and, as we prepared a traditional Jamaican spread of Ackee & Saltfish/Callaloo, served with hard food and fried plantain, we also shared an important conversation about anxiety. What it is, how it can show up in our daily lives, and practical ways we can manage it.

Between chopping, stirring and seasoning, we explored the power of slowing down, connecting with others, and creating space for ourselves when life feels overwhelming.

Food has always been about more than nourishment. It’s about culture, community, healing and connection. This session was a beautiful reminder of that.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening such a success. ❤️

🔥Next up: Friday 19th June🔥

We’re bringing the flavour with Jerk Chicken and Fried Dumplings/Festival. Come along for another evening of cooking, conversation, community and delicious food.

Whether you’re a seasoned cook or just coming for the vibes, there’s a place for you at the table.

11.04.25 we made history.
16 businesses came together to build a stronger more unified community through walking, building connections with other Brum community members & grounding with nature 💚✨

We took over 80 people (families, loan walkers, elderly & disabled) to Malvern Hills - It was truly inspirational to see everyone step out of their comfort zones & be vulnerable which allowed us to grow a bond as a community. Everyone went through a struggle with their breathing, aching joints, ability, mind set & yet, with a little support, kindness from our community we each made it at our own pace, with grace & gratitude 🤲

MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE that showed up to make it a reality:-
@ltfitness_hub Levi 4 leading the walk & @justwalkuk for covering the back - your commitment/support & leadership carried our community through. @therasadventurer for keeping everyone motivated & inspired ✨.
@_bmajorcic @essence_youth_mentoring @essenceboystomen @samsvegandelights @iheartfood.ltd @theplaycycle @twinpztwinsanefitness @levelup @elevated.up @fabricofthecommunity @made_cic @higherselfthemovement for bringing the vibes, supporting our community/keeping them on track, promotion & genuine community spirit, Brum is lucky to have us all.
