FOOD • Want to eat fresh produce but you’re concerned about that “you know what” that’s going around? 🍃 While I can’t guarantee you won’t get that parasitic thing from local produce, from what I’ve read, it’s unlikely. 🍃 There have been cases in North Carolina, but they don’t know of a common source for sure. One thing that experts agree on is that local, direct-from-farm produce like what we find at our Farmers Markets can be a lower risk option compared to mass produced, imported items. 🍃 State Farmers Market 📍1201 Agriculture St Raleigh, NC 27603 🍃 While I was doing some digging, I ran across a video from @PierceAbernathy whose audio you hear. And also articles from the Center for Science in the Public Interest. @cspi_nutritionaction 🍃 Are you doing anything differently to try and prevent cyclosporiasis from affecting you? Are you still eating fresh produce? Tell me in the comments. 🍃

It’s my local CSA, @theproducebox 🍃 If recent food recalls have you thinking twice about your produce, here’s one simple way to feel more connected to what’s on your plate 🥬 If you can find a local CSA near you or can go to a farmer’s market, stock up on some delicious, smaller produced produce 🍃 You’ll still want to wash your produce well, and sauté, cook, or roast your veggies to be safe, and roasting in particular brings out the sweetness and depth of flavor in vegetables 💚 👉Follow me for delicious plant based vegan recipes and visit my website for more - links in bio👆

PANZANELLA 🥖🤌🍃 A rustic Italian bread salad. This simple recipe is giving vacation energy only😁🌞Often made with day old bread and thought of as a side dish; but I’ve added chickpeas to this simple recipe so you can enjoy it as a full meal. So don’t throw out that bread! Transform it into a healthy, comforting dish that has lots of color, texture and flavor. I used wonderful ciabatta rolls that we get from @theproducebox ,our local CSA. In addition to their fabulous cherry tomatoes & English cucumber🥖 🍅 🥒You can also use any course textured type of bread for this dish. Fun for a summer gathering and is still delicious the next day! Hope you make this recipe for gatherings this weekend! 👉Recipe below in the comments💚

This simple salad is all about crunch! FENNEL CARROT SALAD using fresh ingredients from @theproducebox 🍃Crisp, fresh fennel and sweet carrots, with some mild, buttery Castelvetrano olives, dressed with good olive oil and vinegar. This salad feels like wandering through an Italian market with the sun on your face. A little sweet, a little anise, a lot addictive, fennel has lots of health benefits. Fennel helps lower blood pressure, aids the body in lowering cholesterol, is antioxidant rich, helps boost the immune system, and and it’s great for digestive health. So serve up some effortless Italian elegance, one crunchy bite at a time! 🥕Full recipe in the comments. 👉 Follow for more delicious plant based recipes!🍃
