Out tomorrow! 🩶Three years in the making. It's hard to believe the first monograph about my painting is released tomorrow. 🎨📖

I hope this book lets you share in both the questions and pleasure I feel when painting the natural world.

Sending my work out into the world is one of the best feelings, and the occasion of a publication like this makes it even more special.

Endless thanks to Rizzoli Electa for the care they brought to this project—it very quickly became a life event. And to everyone at DCMoore Gallery, for believing in me and my painting.

So many talented people helped along the way, far too many to name. I'm deeply grateful to each of you.

I especially hope you'll read John Yau's essay. His insight taught me so much about painting—mine and others'—and I'm eager to know your response.

The arrival of spring has brought hundreds of rare birds from all around the world to BMAC. They are the handiwork of artist Robin Crofut-Brittingham–exquisitely detailed watercolor renderings created for her recent book, “The Illuminated Book of Birds” (Timber Press, 2025).

Curated by Sarah Freeman, “Robin Crofut-Brittingham: Migrations” features two bodies of work–the aforementioned birds, as well as large-scale landscapes depicting imagined futures shaped by ecological change. Crofut-Brittingham’s bird paintings are rooted in close observation and detailed rendering, whereas her expansive landscapes reflect a rich imagination and storytelling ability. Together, they celebrate the beauty of the natural world while also considering its fragility in the face of human impact.

On Saturday, June 6, at 5:30 p.m., Crofut-Brittingham will give a talk about her work at the museum. Admission is free. Advance registration is recommended, but walk-ins are welcome, subject to availability.
