So much history here! It was so interesting seeing the actual Liberty Bell, original printed copy of the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Liberty Hall, and other historical monuments. This was a fun trip.

🏔️The Sound of Music, Evangel Theatre, 2026🏔️
This was truly a dream come true. This show is the reason I ever stepped into a theatre audition. When my mom first introduced me to The Sound of Music 21 years ago, I knew I wanted to be the Captain someday.
A lot has happened since then. In 26 years, I’ve lived in five states, changed directions more than once, and experienced seasons of stress, regret, loss, joy, fulfillment, and peace. I’ve met so many people along the way, each with their own story to tell.
One night during rehearsal, I sat in the wings and thought, “How did I get here?” How had everything in my life led me to this role, with these people? This show was especially meaningful because it brought together such a wide range of ages, talents, and experiences. Seeing how God brought us together to tell a story that means so much to so many filled me with joy and gratitude.
The most rewarding thing I heard was how much people enjoyed it and the memories it brought back with their loved ones.
This show has meant everything to me, and I continue to feel the blessings of being part of it. It has been such a renewing experience, especially since April has often been the hardest month for me. I found many familiar emotions in this role, and I will miss it deeply.
The Captain is a patriot who loves his country and loves children. He experiences the restorative power of music, has his awkward moments, and learns to recognize when he’s wrong. He loves his home in the mountains and lives with passion, sentimentality, and conviction.
I am deeply thankful to have been given the ability and trusted with the opportunity to live out a childhood dream. I love this cast and this department like my own family. My theatre experience couldn’t have been better. Living here has been the restart that God knew I needed.
Trust and obey. Live boldly.
