Please join the Iota Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated in congratulating Soror Banel Cisse (SPR ‘25) on graduating from Boston University!

Soror Cisse graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, with a minor in Muslim Studies. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Public Health through Boston University’s accelerated 4+1 MPH program.

Throughout her undergraduate career, she demonstrated a strong commitment to scholarship, leadership, and service. A proud Ruth and Norman Rales Scholar; Soror Cisse earned Dean’s List honors for eight consecutive semesters and was recognized with the City Council Citation Speaker’s Achievement Award for her dedication to academic excellence and community engagement. She served as Public Relations Chair for the Boston University Sahelian Student Association and as a Youth Empowerment Community Representative with the Alliance of Family Justice. As a two-time Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellow, she studied Wolof and Ajami in Senegal, strengthening her cross-cultural understanding and global perspective. Passionate about advancing health and education, Soror Cisse served as a Digital Wellbeing Intern and Volunteer Assistant with Peer Health Exchange. She also volunteered with Food For Free and the Allston Brighton Food Pantry and dedicated her time mentoring students as a Mathematics and Humanities Tutor. During her time within the chapter, she served as Treasurer.

We are so proud of her and can’t wait to see her impact worldwide. She is a light that continues to shine everywhere she goes and we wish her nothing but success!

Congratulations Soror Cisse!🐘❤️
