Last Night at @explore.wav, I got to witness true friendship, love, fellowship, and the beauty of Black People brought together by our love of music. Shoutout to @djempressrah for creating such a dope event and @therealafrohemian for blessing the couch/room with her taste in music! Be sure to be on the lookout for the next session!

I’ve had a helluva journey as a DJ ( 14 years to be exact 👵🏾) and for every moment, tear, victory, major contract, major loss and more…my bestie @therealafrohemian has been there by my side. Wayyyyyyy before I even became ‘Empress Rah’. 🥹

An 18 year friendship that started at a sorority conference in Detroit (💙💛) not only did we move to ATL at the same time but we simultaneously took the leap into entrepreneurship by marching to the beat of our own drum, creating our own rules and wreaking havoc in the best way we know how.

As a music lover herself, she has never missed a beat when it comes to music curation and over the years, i’ve jokingly said she could also be a DJ. (And she would roll her eyes at me.)

Well the time is now lol. Not officially 😫 BUT tomorrow night she will take to the couch for episode 8 of @explore.wav for a very special intimate listening experience of her own personal curated playlist.

parking options: there is limited venue parking, street parking & nearby parking decks within walking distance. marta accessible. (north ave station is right next door to the venue)

In the midst of reviewing photos live on the scene, I kept saying “who is THAT?! I LOOK REAL WOMANLY!”

And it’s true. I really am. Not that I wasn’t before but now it’s more of a feeling than a “look.” I love this chapter.
