Today, we remember the lives lost, honor the heroes, and reflect on the strength that brought us together.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Turmoil screens at TINFF in Toronto, Canada on 9/11 — and this invitation is for everyone. The film was created with real veterans, nurses, and doctors whose experiences echo far beyond any one city or community.

Wherever you live, whatever your background, this story speaks to the universal themes of trauma, recovery, and the strength it takes to keep going. If you believe in truth on screen, this screening is for you.

Congratulations to our cast and crew. Every one of them showed up as strictly volunteers, driving up to 30 miles just to be on set — and then filming through a hailstorm like it was nothing.

Some crew members thought they were just running camera… and ended up performing high‑action stunts on the spot.

This film was built on heart, grit, and pure commitment. I’m proud of every single person who stood in the cold and gave everything they had to bring Turmoil to life.

Dr. Nick Marino, MD, who plays Sean Yeager in Turmoil, had no acting experience before stepping onto our set. He agreed to take on the role without hesitation, and that confidence came from his Muay Thai background and natural athleticism. Because of that foundation, he adapted quickly to the fight choreography created by Arashi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. What surprised everyone was how naturally he carried himself on camera — grounded, physical, and completely believable as a veteran martial artist. His performance is a reminder that sometimes the most authentic screen presence comes from lived discipline that even trained actors struggle to match.
