💙 ONE WALK. MANY CONVERSATIONS. BEAUTIFUL CONNECTIONS. 🌿

What a beautiful afternoon in Byblos! 🇱🇧✨

People traveled from different regions of Lebanon to walk, connect, share stories, and enjoy meaningful conversations, ending our day with a magical Mediterranean sunset. 🌅

Why do I organize these gatherings?

Because I believe that human connection is one of the greatest gifts we can offer one another.

A simple walk opens conversations. Conversations nurture understanding. And understanding plants the seeds of trust, friendship, and belonging. 💚

Through THE REAL Mental Health Foundation, founded by Shawn Lesser, we continue raising awareness around men’s mental health, one walk and one conversation at a time.

Grateful to share this journey in Lebanon with fellow Ally Patricia Elias, and to honor my dear friends, the Montreal Ambassadors: Geoff Moore, Paul Simard, Julian A. Giacomelli, Derek Covington, Jamie Ritchie, Jason Finucan, Josef Friedrich Kasz, Nick Cholmsky, and Nishayel M. Williams. 💙

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to Le Souk des Artisans for welcoming us, and to Beit Fares & Lucia for receiving us so warmly.

This beautiful house once welcomed me in 2018, where I planted many seeds of love, healing, and connection.

And what a wonderful surprise to see Najwa, the owner, just as we stepped inside! ❤️

Some places hold memories. Some encounters remind us how beautifully life comes full circle.

To every beautiful soul who joined us, THANK YOU for your presence, openness, and the energy you brought to our gathering. 🌸

🌲 Next adventure: Seeds of Change at Maasser El Chouf Cedars, potentially October 24. Stay tuned!

💙 One step. One conversation. A brighter tomorrow.

It’s not therapy. It’s therapeutic.

A REAL Saturday in Lebanon 🇱🇧💙

The third Saturday of the month arrived with a beautiful spontaneous plan.

Together with my wonderful fellow Ally Patricia Elias, we joined a group of 115 people for a hike in Ouyoun Orghosh, above the Cedars of God, followed by an afternoon surrounded by the magnificent ancient Cedars. 🌲

Beautiful women joined us, along with an inspiring group of men and women, and once again I was reminded of something simple:

When we walk together, conversations happen.
When we listen, connection deepens.
When we create space for one another, humanity comes forward.

This is the spirit I love about THE REAL Mental Health Foundation — creating opportunities for meaningful conversations, human connection, and greater awareness around men’s mental health, while welcoming everyone into the conversation.

Deep gratitude to Shawn Lesser for the vision behind THE REAL, to Patricia for sharing this journey in Lebanon, and to my fellow Ambassadors and dear friends in Montreal who continue carrying this movement forward. 💙

Montreal, I’ll be walking with you again in October. 🇨🇦

Until then, Lebanon… we keep walking. 🇱🇧
One step. One conversation. One human connection at a time.

“It’s not therapy. It’s therapeutic.”

Every third Saturday, we walk.

The REAL Walk brings people together through conversation, connection and community while raising awareness around men’s mental health. Everyone is welcome.

This month looked a little different.

Instead of joining the walk, I went for a swim at Aquatic Park in San Francisco.

I’m a member of the Dolphin Club, a public swim club in San Francisco, and while I love our walks, swimming is equally—if not more—rewarding and nourishing for me.

If you’re ever in San Francisco and are a swimmer—or would simply like to experience
swimming in the bay—I’d love to take you to Aquatic Park.

Today, I’m honoring The REAL Walk from the water.

Sometimes the strongest person in the room is the one silently struggling the most. I have had my own dark knight of the soul!

Today, on World Suicide Prevention Day, reach out to someone.

Not with a like.
Not with an emoji.
Not with “Hope you’re well.”

Call them. Sit with them. Ask them:

“How are you—really?”

And when they answer, listen.

We may never fully know the battles another person is fighting. But sometimes one conversation, one human connection, one moment of genuine presence can make all the difference.

Today’s call to action: Think of one person you haven’t heard from in a while. Send them a message or call them right now.

You don’t need the perfect words.
You just need to show up.

Today is 988 Day.

988 is the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available across the United States for anyone experiencing emotional distress, mental health or substance use challenges, or simply needing someone to talk with.

This year’s theme is: “988 Reasons: Your reason is reason enough.”

You do not need to be at the point of crisis to reach out. Whatever you are facing—big or small—is reason enough to seek support.

Call, text or chat 988 at any time for free, confidential support.

Please help make sure more people know it is there.

One weekend. Three places. One beautiful intention. 💙

From a meaningful walk with my brother Riad in Faqra, to swimming and heartfelt conversations with Patricia Elias and friends in Taht El Rih, to closing the weekend surrounded by family, friends, and the magnificent Cedars of God. 🌲🌊⛰️

Different places, different people, yet the same invitation:

Walk. Connect. Listen. Share.

THE REAL Mental Health Walks create space for meaningful conversations around men’s mental health, stress, anxiety, life, and the experiences we carry within us — while welcoming everyone into the conversation.

As THE REAL beautifully says:

“It’s not therapy. It’s therapeutic.”

Grateful to Shawn Lesser for his vision, to the Ambassadors and Allies around the world, and to my fellow Ambassadors and friends in Montreal who continue creating spaces for connection.

This weekend, we carried that spirit across Lebanon. 🇱🇧💙

One walk. One conversation. One connection at a time.

I wanted to help amplify this opportunity from the American Association of Suicidology.

There are many people across my network whose work, communities and lives have been touched by suicide. I hope this reaches those who may want to share their own lived experience through writing — and those who know someone who might.

Since 2015, AAS and the QPR Institute have created this writing competition for survivors of suicidal thoughts and attempts to share personal essays about healing, hope and recovery.

I serve on the AAS Board and wanted to help share this opportunity more broadly.

Please consider participating, sharing, or passing this along to someone who might be interested.

"You're a woman. You can't teach a man." I hear this daily and every single time my answer is the same.
You're right.

Because I'm not trying to teach men how to be men.
I don't coach masculinity. I don't tell men how to lead, parent, provide, or show up in their relationships.

I work with the one thing that sits underneath all of it, their nervous system.

The body doesn't care whether you're a man or a woman. Chronic stress affects everyone. The difference is that many men have spent decades believing they have to carry it alone.

That pressure typically shows up as poor sleep, explosive reactions, constant tension, burnout, health problems, difficulty making decisions, and feeling disconnected from the people they love.

I've watched too many good men suffer in silence because asking for help felt like weakness. I've watched too many families lose fathers, husbands, brothers, sons, and friends from taking their own life.

If I can help one man understand his nervous system before he reaches that point, then every criticism I receive is worth it.

This isn't about teaching men how to be men. It's about helping men stay alive long enough to become the man they already want to be.

There is meaning on the other side of pain. Courage is not the absence of struggle. It’s what we do with it.

Kura brought together 100+ clinic owners, investors, healthcare leaders, and advocates for an evening of honest conversation about transforming behavioral health.

Kevin Hines, one of fewer than 1% to survive a jump from the Golden Gate Bridge, asked how many of us had lost someone to suicide or addiction. The room fell silent. And nearly every hand went up.

“In my short years on this gorgeous planet, I have now lost 23 people I care deeply about to suicide. And isn’t one person we know, love, or care about that passes this way one too many? Yes, it is. And that’s why we’re having this conversation.”

Then Shawn Lesser, founder of THE REAL Mental Health Foundation, spoke candidly about his own breakdown and recovery:

“Being vulnerable is not a weakness. It’s a massive strength.”

Kevin and Shawn said out loud what I have carried quietly for years. That’s where Kura comes from.

Technology is only half of the equation. The other half, the harder half, is human.
