A week of opera and other existential discoveries. 🎭✨

Last month, I had the opportunity to participate in YAVA (Young Artist Vocal Academy) at Houston Grand Opera. @hougrandopera

It was an intense week filled with classes, coachings, new friendships, and countless tools for the journey ahead.

Everything I learned is something I know I will carry with me for a very long time.

Thank you to the entire YAVA team for creating such an enriching and inspiring experience, and for believing in the development of the next generation of singers with such dedication and generosity. I find that deeply admirable and genuinely moving. 🥹

Can’t believe I got to call @hougrandopera home for a week!

Studying at the Houston Grand Opera Young Artist Vocal Academy has been such a formative and refining experience for me. I’ve felt so fortunate to be surrounded by such a wealth of knowledge and artistry at HGO, and to work with incredibly talented industry professionals who carry such reverence for the repertoire of this incredible art form. I feel blessed to count myself among this year’s participants, and to have had the opportunity to meet and form friendships with other young singers and valuable mentors. Love my YAVA family! 🫶🏻✨🎶

Freshman Year In The Books ✅

What a time to be alive! I’m so grateful for such an inspiring and wonderful first year of college. This year was filled with so many firsts and opportunities from seeing my first opera at the Met and seeing inspiring artists that I admire, to my first opera role in undergrad, to winning my first set of competitions on the district and regional level.

This year made me realized the love I have for my craft and artistry that I for so long not shown enough appreciation towards which is why now I have decided to pursue the goal of being an opera singer; full steam ahead!!! Though there will be many bumps and doubts on the road ahead; I’m forever blessed and grateful to have met so many talented artists, individuals, and mentors who have supported me and my journey so far, thank you!

This chapter is already in motion and I’m just getting warmed up!!!

I’ll see you in August @binghamtonu!!!

The Magic Flute was amazing and so much fun!
The production was gorgeous and the people are even better~
Under the direction of @stefanoskoroneos, the opera was taken under a more Gothic tone where we played with lights and shadows. It was a short and sweet production that I only wish lasted longer. But for the LUMA festival it was perfection!

First show with @tricitiesopera in the books, onto the next! 🦆🦆🦆

“She coooooomes!”
Away from her professional debut:) Thank you Tri-Cities Opera for giving me the opportunity to share my art. First Lady with such a wonderful cast and crew was a gift🥹From hobbling around to floating onstage as my inner spooky vamp within two weeks, this process was special because of the people I got to share it with onstage and off. Most special of all, my family and friends were here in presence and in spirit: я пою за вас💜💜

What a wild time:) I offer lil snippets of the last kooky month below:
March 23: performing with Binghamton orchestra as concerto competition winner under Paul McShee’s baton (No Word From Tom, Stravinsky)
March 17: a lil bit of Valeria’s Aria from Tom Cipullo’s MAYO from NATS Eastern Region (1st place advanced female voice)
April 5&12: reprising our favorite Don Pasquale duet with @robertdakwar.baritone at opera scenes and @aahrealbassbaritone residency recital.
And the people we get to grow with! Thanks always to our teachers. Mentors and 🫡pianists pictured, the grooviest Tyler Tucker and John Isenberg. Next up, new music season:)

I had the privilege of performing in two Puccini operas this past weekend! Gianni Schicchi and Suor Angelica have a special place in my heart and were made even more special by the amazing casts I worked with! Addio Firenze (for now)
