Pre-day 1 of #OSH26

I flew from West Virginia to Madison Wisconsin where I and 64 other Mooneys staged for the Mooney Mass Arrival on the 18th!
.
After landing in Madison, we all went to the hotel, where we did our preflight brief, then went out to dinner!
.
Overall, it was a smooth flight, ATC was being funny, and nice Ramp beer!

#osh26 Day 2
.
One the 18th of July, 63 Mooneys all flew in the mass arrival into Oshkosh. We were the first (and best) mass arrival! This was my first year doing the Mooney Caravan, and it is the only way I am doing it from now on. The friends you meet and the things to do together is amazing!

Every person who gets to know me knows that there are 3 things I love in aviation more than anything else:
1. @boldaviator : high quality shirts, amazing people, and they have just the right vibe
2. @boseaviation : been a Bose kid since day one of flight training and do not plan and changing that anytime soon
3. @cirrusaircraft : it’s just a pilot friendly plane and looks sick for whatever reason, and I mean you get a parachute.

This West Virginia trip combined all 3 things in one, making it a trip for the books. Also, go check them out!!!!

What a special moment in my aviation journey so far. Definitely won’t forget about this so soon because I was the one teaching him how to land. ME, YES ME!!!!

Never in a million years did I think when I started this journey that I would be the one teaching someone how to fly a plane, and here I am, 8 years later signing off my very first student. What an honor and privilege it is to teach someone how to land.

And I’m more than happy and feel grateful and honored to call @big_jenergy and @therealskyqueen my friends to have the pick up my call to share this special moment with! Definitely something I don’t take for granted and thanks for being part of this day.

Being able to share the cockpit with my friends and just going to fly somewhere is something I won’t forget easily and never take for granted. This trip also taught me a valuable weight and balance lesson I’ll carry with me for a long time, proof again that exposing yourself to different things will teach you something, even when you don’t expect it.

Huge thanks to our friend Randall, off to the Navy soon to fly cooler things than we do, for hosting us in Ohio and sharing a formation flight with us. It made the weekend so special. Thanks to everyone, and I’m grateful I get to call y’all my friends.

legendary weekend dump:
can’t say how lucky i am to have friends like this that make leaving for the navy so damn hard, and have so many friends that i couldn’t possibly invite all of them (though i tried)! people from california to west virginia flew in to formation fly with me (with a surprise appearance by the wright flyer lining up number 3 behind us on the taxiway).

i’ll never have enough time to say goodbye to everyone, and i’ll always want to do one more flight, one more shoot, one more karaoke night, one more… one more... i only have to scroll through my instagram grid to be grateful for all i did with all of you while living in dayton these past six years.

i ship out to newport, rhode island this friday, sept 11 for navy officer candidate school. i will return to dayton for 1-3 months after i graduate on dec 11. ⚓️

That’s a wrap for August. What a month!
It started off with passing my Commercial Multi and the day after I passed the checkride I had to be in California starting instruction and through the 3 weeks I’ve been doing it so far, I gained about 80hrs of dual given and I loved every moment of it. To top it all off, I finished the month with the best group of people out there that I’m happy to call my good friends as we signed off our friend @rockinrandall95 who will be flying cooler things than we do soon.
One thing I found impressive with the final trip of August is the fact that we as pilots can have fun and laugh all day long but when it comes to flying or dealing with situations we can lock in within a second and go back to what we trained to do.
Huge thanks to everyone who I got to hang out with this month and can’t wait for the next group hang/flyout and side quest associated with that.
