last week while instructing I hit 750 hours! I’m so excited to be at this point in my career and grateful that aviation found me. This hour milestone is the first one I’ve celebrated, mostly because I finally got my logbook in order a few months ago 😂. 750 is special because it marks the halfway point to reaching 1500 hours- the unrestricted ATP minimums.

There are so many different paths that we can take as pilots, I’m not sure exactly what the future holds, but I know I’ll be happy while doing it! Presently, I love being an instructor and contract pilot. I continue to learn and experience so much each flight. I hope to continue to appreciate every hour, the ones where I learn, teach, have fun, get stressed, and even question my existence 😂.

I’ve realized that the challenges and struggles of the past served to prepare me for my future, even though I didn’t know the purpose in the moment. What I try to do is easier said than done, but I hope to be present, appreciate what’s in front of me, and have faith in the process 🛩️✨

find me in the flight levels ☁️

On Thursday, I had the opportunity to fly @jetgirlstephanie ‘s Citation V from Miami, FL to Vegas ✈️. Flying with Stephanie and her husband was an extremely valuable experience for me. I logged jet time for the first time, showing me what my commercial multi engine license can potentially amount to 🛩️. During our time in the air, I become familiar with jet cross country operations, flight planning, flight management systems, air traffic control procedures (got to announce our flight level on frequency 🤭), large airspace operations, autopilot systems, and various systems in the Citation V.

Stephanie and her husband are both experienced, talented, and professional pilots, and instructors. Needless to say I learned a whole lot from flying with them! Getting the opportunity to fly across the country in the Citation V provided me with much motivation, inspiration, and insight to what my future holds.

Stephanie has been a very impactful mentor to me since I met her almost 3 years ago, so getting to fly with her, in a jet, was a truly incredible moment. This is something I never would’ve imagined doing 3 years ago! (Always be open minded, carry yourself well, and you’ll never know what meeting someone can amount to). Mentors like her help shape our future in the professional environment and provide invaluable insights. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity and look forward to my next time in the flight levels ✨
