Cinnamonroll shadow daddy, talking baby skunks, and Disney Princess vibes, oh my! In this delightful tale, our FMC Aelia has spent her entire life giving every bit of herself to serve the kingdom: she’s an herbalist, frantically trying to gather enough ingredients throughout their dying land for her father to make potions for the Queen; she’s a servant, helping the Cook keep the castle fed; she’s a noble woman with exemplary manners at evening banquets and balls. She’s willing to keep doing all of it, until one day the kingdom asks for her very life. She escapes and winds up on the doorstep of the very villain who is cursing their lands. The shadow daddy villain turns out to have his uncle living with him, as well as a host of incredible cute animal helpers!!! I got to spend time with the author Alora Carter @fablesandflames con 2025; she was a lovely (and silly) lady with lots of great stories who signed multiple books for me! Thank you! Ties of Shadow was a stand alone book, and I’m looking forward to reading more of Alora’s works! Notes: - Shadow daddy - Cinnamon roll MMC - Slow Burn - Low Spice - High Stakes - Coming of Age - First person POV - Aelia only #romantasy #tiesofshadow #tetheredhearts #aloracarter

My outfit for the second day of Fables and Flames! I got a lot of compliments on my hair; I braided a tree garland strand of pearls into them. #fablesandflames #romantasyconvention #romantasy #minneapolis
