Fables & Flames, Minneapolis Minnesota’s very own Romantasy book convention, is November 6th - 8th, 2026! I’m so excited for the amazing events planned, the amazing vendors, and most of all, the amazing authors I’ll get to hang out with, including Tricia Andersen! Tricia’s giving two of her books, Blood Lust and Welterweight, Fables and Flames exclusive covers! Welterweight is the first book in a series of romances about werewolf brothers, and Blood and Lust is the first in the DC Gods series of romances where a Greek God gets partnered with some kind of paranormal person in every story! You can preorder these books through Beventi thru October 16th! Tricia is also currently running a kickstarter for a special edition of her DC Gods books; it ends the evening of 10-11-2026. Additionally, Tricia handmakes a number of really cute tote bags on her embroidery machine, so you can pick up some cute swag as well.

That said, if you’re interested in going to @fablesandflames to meet @tricia_andersen_author or any of the other wonderful authors, you need to get tickets, hotel rooms, and preorder books ASAP! See the links in my bio. by @theredbookbox

I’m so excited for the amazing events planned, the amazing vendors, and most of all, the amazing authors I’ll get to hang out with, including A.S. Green @asgreenbooks Green writes spicy paranormal romances with a lot of Irish mythological influences and the perfect amount of angst! I especially love that, as a local, Green has set a number of her books in the Minnesota/Wisconsin area! It’s really fun to be able to imagine all the characters running in my favorite hiking trails or hanging out by the lake. Even if you can’t make Fables and Flames 2026, I highly recommend you check out her books!

That said, if you’re interested in going to Fables & Flames @fablesandflames to meet A.S. Green or any of the other wonderful authors, there’s still plenty of time to get tickets, hotel rooms, and preorder books! See the link in my bio. by @theredbookbox

Fables & Flames, Minneapolis Minnesota’s very own Romantasy book convention, is November 6th - 8th, 2026! And I have already placed preorders with 14 different authors and vendors for the con! See the cute digital flatlay I created??

Many independently published authors attending the con have limited space to bring books, and traditionally published authors often don’t bring books to sell at all. If you’re dying for a particular book or special edition or just to get anything written by Andrea Eames, Morgan Lockhart, or Brigid Kemmerer, make sure to preorder those books ASAP. Some of the authors selling on Beventi @beventi.co (see link in bio) will be closing their orders in the next few weeks; Green Dragon @thegreendragonbookshop (see link in bio) will be accepting orders up until a few days before the con, although I advise folks to order at least a week beforehand to prevent issues.

(Left to right, top row, then the bottom)

West of Jaws By Capes @capes.author
Crown of Slumber (special edition) by R.L. Perez @rlperezbooks
A Kingdom of Promises and Lies by N.F. Schmitt @n.f.schmitt

A Forest of Stolen Memories (special edition) by Callie Thomas @authorcalliethomas
Blood and Lust (F&F exclusive edition) by Tricia Andersen @tricia_andersen_author
Stitches by Amanda Meuweissen @amandameuwissenbooks
Rise of Knight and Sword by Miriam Wade @miriam.wade.author

Super cute light up ghost made by P3 Printing @p3_printing
Midnight Companion by Kit Barrie @fantasticalkitbarrie
Dragon Chained by Kenley Davidson @kenley_davidson
Iced by the Berserker by A.S. Green @asgreenbooks

And there there’s still plenty of time to get tickets and hotel rooms for Fables and Flames @fablesandflames ! See the link in my bio. by @theredbookbox

A Curse for Christmas Past by Morgan Lockhart - an amazing Christmas themed paranormal romance and story of redemption! The FMC Hayleigh, who was a villain in the previous Elk River book, is struggling with her life and the millions of negative influences on it. I loved how the author carefully walked us through Hayleigh’s life, showing us how dysfunctional and abusive it is and how much Hayleigh struggles with the high standards set on women, without having characters tell us how messed up it is, until the end. The author trusts her audience to identify the subtle ways that Hayleigh’s indoctrinated, to the point where she doesn’t even see it herself. The context makes Hayleigh a sympathetic enough character that her redemption arc and acceptance into the town where she was previously hated, was completely believable and very satisfying.

I loved all of the Slavic themes of the story; Baba Yaga and the other folklore aspects as well as the holiday traditions were wonderful! The author’s continuing inclusion of environmental themes is fabulous; the MMC Stephan’s continuous work to learn everything he can about the natural world in order to support it with his magic, rather than having his magic just be a panacea gives magic such a believable feeling.

The setting, just as with the previous book, is filled to the brim with midwinter holiday delights and seriously put me in the mood for fuzzy sweaters and hot cocoa! Even with some of the heavier themes in this story, it was ultimately a light escapist read, perfect for a snowy afternoon surrounded by blankets!

Thank you so much to Morgan Lockhart @lockhartwrites and Dutton @duttonbooks publishing for the advanced reader’s copy! I’m just going to be over here praying that there’s another Elk River book coming soon!

Make Me Laugh by Dany Crooks @danycrooksauthor - A wonderful contemporary golden retriever x black cat fake dating romance! Dany Crooks tells a high heat story that deals with the various personas we as human beings use for different people in our lives. One of the more interesting aspects is the huge influence of parasocial relationships with the main characters’ social media accounts, which in many ways become stronger motivations for the characters than their in real life relations; partly because of the money yes, but also partly because of sheer weight of having literally millions of eyes watching and judging you.

The story was also filled with 90’s and 00’s references, gorgeous spooky imagery, and a strong sizzle between the main characters! Most of my favorite moments were actually the reels the FMC put together for their social media accounts; so friggin hot! This book is the first in the Headliners Duology and is stand alone. Thank you so much to Dany Crooks for the advanced reader’s copy!

-FM couple
-1st person POV (FMC and MMC)
-High spicy (kinky)
-Off page character death
-Bullying/harassment/doxxing
-Spit play

Fables & Flames, Minneapolis Minnesota’s very own Romantasy book convention, is November 6th - 8th, 2026! I’m so excited for the amazing events planned, the amazing vendors, and most of all, the amazing authors I’ll get to hang out with, including Amanda Meuwissen @amandameuwissenbooks ! Amanda writes high spice, kinky MM and MNB romances. Her stories include themes around gender identity, self discovery, and tentacles! With over fifty books published, she’s covered high fantasy, paranormal, urban fantasy, and contemporary romance, so there’s something to cover just about every romance reader mood. I’m personally partial to her “Lovers of the Gods” series where she goes into the mindset of dozens of different mythical gods and speculates on what makes them tick. She also came up with a number of very inventive kinks for them 😛 Even if you can’t make Fables and Flames 2026, I highly recommend you check out her books!

That said, if you’re interested in going to Fables & Flames @fablesandflames to meet Amanda Meuwissen or any of the other wonderful authors, there’s still plenty of time to get tickets and hotel rooms! See the link in my bio. by @theredbookbox

Fables & Flames @fablesandflames Minneapolis Minnesota’s very own Romantasy book convention, is November 6th - 8th, 2026! I’m so excited for the amazing events planned, the amazing vendors, and most of all, the amazing authors I’ll get to hang out with, including Alora Carter! Carter @authoraloracarter writes fairy tale style stories, often with low spice high swoon romances. Her stories include themes around strong community, environmentalism, and self discovery. My personal favorite minor theme was the way she included the effects of propaganda in Ties of Shadow. Carter also creates fabulous memorable animal characters in her books (shout out to Jax!) Even if you can’t make Fables and Flames 2026, I highly recommend you check out her books!
