POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Five years into Foam Fest, we had our biggest turnout yet and two things stuck with me more than the number of attendees.

First, many hands really do make light work. While I was getting pulled in every direction, our volunteers, Wisconsin BHA crew, friends and partners stepped in and handled everything before I could even ask.

People kept telling me, “Eric, you did a great job.” I mostly laughed because it felt like everyone else did the work while I wandered around looking busy.

It takes a village, and we’ve got a damn good one.

Second, the kids couldn’t get enough archery. Derek’s youth shed hunt was a hit, and once the youth bows came out, they just kept shooting. Parents rotated in like a bow-tech pit crew while the kids flung arrow after arrow.

Seeing that many kids outside finding sheds, shooting bows and taking on the 3D course was pretty damn special. They weren’t worried about scores or gear, they were just having fun, the way it should be.

To everyone who volunteered, partnered with us, brought their family or showed up to support Okayest Hunter, thank you.

Year five was our biggest Foam Fest yet, and it felt like exactly what we hoped this thing could become.

Good people. Happy families and kids and a whole lot of arrows killing some foam.

We hope everyone had a great time, because sure did!
