This year felt like a rollercoaster ride.
I grew in ways I never knew I could, learnt the lessons I didn't know I needed.🌻
With so many ups and downs, highs and lows I survived and discovered versions of myself I didn't know existed.
I became a better person, I got to know myself.🦋
I created my bookstagram this year and found beautiful souls here. I experienced what being a fangirl is like, explored different things and this place became my safe space, my sweet little corner.🫶🏻
I'm grateful for everything... Alhamdulillah.

#romancechallenge 🦚🪻🍵📗💙💫

~ 🤍✨ what's your favourite genre to read?
Mine are easily romance and romantasy 🫡

I've seen this challenge going around so I decided to join in!! I'll tag some friends but feel free to enter 🫶🏽

❀ friends / enemies to lovers
enemies to lovers easilyyyy- I love the idea of someone seeing your worst sides and still loving you HAHA

❀ fake dating / age gap
If age gap has no haters, I'm dead 🤍. Okay jokes aside, I do love this trope if it's done well but I think some books out there have some crazy age gap tropes that have just ruined the whole trope for me 😭

❀ grumpy x sunshine / 'who did this to you'
This is so hardddd, I think I'll go with 'who did this to you' because I love the angst in that scene 🤭 and honestly I've been really liking reverse grumpy x sunshine lately!!

❀ second chance / brothers best friend
THIS IS ALSO SO HARDDD. I actually really love both tropes, I think they're both in my top 5 tropes BUT if I had to choose one, I'll choose second chance, but my brother's bsf is close behind!!

❀ emotional past / rom-com
Emotional past!!! This just depends on my mood, sometimes I prefer romcoms because they are so light and easy but usually I love emotional depth!!

❀ spice before / after they fall
Afterrrrr!! I think writing a book about spice before is so hard that's why I was surprised that not in love by Ali is a 5 star read for me because generally that trope can be ehhh but she ATE SO HARD!!! That book is an exception hehe

Okayyy done, you might have noticed this is my second post for today. It's because Instagram has restricted my previous post 😭. I didn't even know until my friend told me (on my account it looks completely normal) but apparently only adults can view it?? I can't with Instagram anymore 😑.

Anyways, have a great week!!

𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬: the prisoner’s throne by holly black

𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

The Folk of the Air trilogy happens to be my favorite fantasy trilogy of all time. The Prisoner’s Throne is the second book in The Stolen Heir duology which has as its protagonist, Oak — a character that was a part of TFOTA as Jude’s baby brother. He’s all grown up now and this book follows his story with Wren.

The first book turned out to be a beautiful Snow White retelling and ended in a plot twist that had me desperately waiting to read the sequel. And it did not disappoint.

I absolutely love Holly Black’s writing. There’s something so unique about it... probably the fact that it is so whimsical, so descriptive but in a nuanced sort of way — in a way that isn’t too overwhelming, but also leaves the reader craving for more.

It’s hilarious in the right places, often suspenseful, with an adequate amount of romantic tension and a litany of plot twists that will have your mind reeling.

I can’t talk about the plot without spoiling the first book, but I will say that I loved how things came together in the end. It felt so good to be back in Elfhame and the best part for me were the Jude and Cardan cameos (the same kind of feeling you get watching katanthony in bridgerton s3). Being married for so many years hasn’t changed them one bit. I have included a couple of samples of their top-tier banter on the carousel ;)

If you’re a TFOTA fan, that should be reason enough to convince you to read this book. But even if you’re new to Elfhame, I think this duology would serve as a great introduction.

HAPPY NEW YEARS 🌹⚜️
🌟This year has been one of the hardest yet the most memorable years of my life ! so many wonderful things happened to me. I learned from my mistakes, learned how to control my social anxiety. I also made many friends here on booksta so that was really something i will cherish forever. Thank you so much for sticking with me and my bookish posts ☺️🫶🏼

💫I'm so excited for 2024. But the sad part is that i wont be as active as i was before. I have many important exams from next year and i hope to do better than i did this year. Untill then🌷
