Yesterday I made my way to @theroostdc for lunch. The smoked catfish taco salad with jalapeños had perfect tangy flavors. @hifitaco @howyousliceit

Modeled after my all time favorite @whitemannahamburgers in Hackensack NJ. (This is 2 orders on one plate)

It’s time for a Cameo Fall Fav 🍁 Horchata de Cafe 🇲🇽 🇸🇻

This beverage is born out a collaboration between
Coffee Director Kenia Canales & Chef Julia Jaramillo!

The horchata de café is a drink specific to México, that blends rich flavors like condensed milk, instant coffee, cocoa, and rice.

We pay homage to the original by incorporating the following:

Wild Rice 🌾 (providing a nutty and balanced component)
@minorfigures organic oat milk + coconut 🥥 milk (for that creamy mouthfeel)
@a_toda_madre_roasters_ Juntos Community Lot concentrate (delicate touch of coffee)
@reyamargo_us 100% Mexican Stone Milled Cocoa & Cardamom (classic sweet flavors we crave especially in the fall 🍂)

Expect this gem 💎 to meet all your fall needs!

Study time today is at my favorite spot in #Ward6 #TheRoost it’s free WiFi! It’s not as warm as I’d like it today but my 🫖 will warm me up. #MentalHealthIsWealth and as a single mother to high energy boys I take my overall health very seriously because who else is going to take care of me and my boys but me! #FoodForThought #Breakfast

It’s not easy, especially these days, to offer an entrée for $25; it feels like we spend our days fighting off rising costs from every direction. We are very proud we’ve been able to keep many of our dishes at @carusosgrocery under $30. We will continue to work hard to deliver delicious food and exceptional service at a great value. Huge thanks to @tomsietsema for including us in your favorite dishes in DC around $25 in the @washingtonsun!
