Rooted in the deep spiritual traditions of Cambodia’s Festival of Ancestors, this new photographic series explores the beauty and sacred weight of Pchum Ben. At the center of each composition rests a traditional gold toned and metal ceremonial offering plate, often found in Khmer households adorned with intricate motifs reminiscent of Angkor Wat. Floating upon these golden vessels, vibrant white, purple, and gold chrysanthemums serve as visual prayers for generations of ancestors.

Cambodian communities around the world fiercely protect and maintain this 15 day tradition to keep their heritage alive across generations. Beyond its religious significance, it acts as an annual reminder of compassion, generational continuity, and profound gratitude teaching us to pause, honor those who came before us, and cherish the roots that sustain us.
