✨ From Goodwill find to Paris-bound! 🇫🇷✨

I turned a quilt I found at Goodwill into this one-of-a-kind jacket, and I’m OBSESSED! 🧵🧥❤️

I can’t wait to wear my handmade creation while strolling the streets of Paris next week! 🥐🗼✨

This is what empowerment looks like.

Dr. ChaCha and I at the Montgomery county fair judging a sewing competition.

We also attended a @fredcochamber event together.

We continue to build our respective businesses at an accelerator program.

We will both have students showing work in an upcoming fashion show.

This is what it looks like to build others up and not "worry about the competition ".

Empowered business women growing together.

RIP Sheila. 🌸💕

For those who didn’t get a chance to meet her, Sheila was the big, beautiful flower arch that stood outside The SEWcial Café.

Sunrise: June 1, 2026
Sunset: September 2, 2026

For three months, Sheila stood outside The SEWcial Café bringing a little extra beauty and color to West Patrick Street. Then a storm rolled through Frederick for about 15 minutes and apparently decided Sheila had lived long enough. 😩 She fought the good fight, but she is resting now.

And a special thank you to Dan over at Able Locksmiths, who did his best to keep Sheila standing. We appreciate you for trying to save our girl! 🌸

One of my favorite things was seeing people stop to take pictures in front of her, so I know some of you have photos with Sheila in your camera roll. If you do, post them and tag The SEWcial Café so we can see them. I’d love to put together a little collection of her time with us.

Sheila, you were beautiful. You were loved. And you had a good run. 🌸 You will be missed.

One of the benefits of making and sewing your own clothes is the ability to manipulate a pattern to your own style. I wanted a bubble skirt but i couldn’t decide what i wanted the length to be. I definitely didn’t want it long… so i decided to add grommets to the side and use the extra fabric for the ties. I didn’t want it to be a jumper. So i modified that.. @chachankole i could never thank you enough for introducing me to this world of sewing… ❤️❤️❤️❤️ love u!!! @thesewcialcafe

Congratulations to all of the incredible finalists from @fredcochamber ShePitch, and a special congratulations to Dr. Chacha with @thesewcialcafe! 💛

And look what I found while leaving @hood_college tonight… this GORGEOUS Chicken of the Woods specimen (white-pored) growing right here on campus! 🍄✨

Been feeling isolated, misunderstood, and unsupported in some ways and I’ve been running into so many signs from the divine, and this beautiful cluster of mushrooms felt like a positive reminder: We can’t do it alone. We need support and right environment to grow. Very inspired by this evening, the supportive community of women and mushrooms!

With mushrooms comes mycelium, trees, roots, leaves, soil, rocks, sunshine, water, insects and more—every part of the ecosystem working together in a beautiful, symbiotic relationship. It reminded me so much of what ShePitch represents- symbiotically and symbolically!

Here’s to growth, transformation, and all of the amazing women who deserve the support and recognition for their determination, commitment, and courage to pursue their dreams. Transformative greatness happens when women support one another.

Grateful to have returned to ShePitch this year and witness the incredible growth of these women, their businesses, and our community. Here’s to continuing to cultivate connection, collaboration, and opportunities for one another. 🌿🍄✨
