Somewhere in the world, it‘s an ordinary morning. Somewhere else, the day is already ending.
At any moment, millions of us are quietly living through hours that feel too small to matter — a quiet kitchen, a familiar drive, a sleeping child, a darkened window. The hours nobody photographs. They pass, and then they’re gone, and we remember almost none of them.
On Friday, May 22, 80+ photographers across the world each claimed a small piece of the day and photographed the honesty of the life around them. Everyone shot in their own local time — so while one person was photographing breakfast, another was already photographing the dark, and neither one knew.
What came out of it is one ordinary day, told in minutes, from four in the morning until just before midnight. Different countries, different weather, different lives — all of it happening at once. Nobody was trying to make anything beautiful, and that‘s exactly why it is.
This exact day will never happen again. It belonged only to May 22, 2026 — and now it’s a kind of time capsule, something we can hold long after we‘ve forgotten we ever lived it.

I honestly rarely shoot at the same location twice. There are just too many stories, too many corners of the world, too many different feelings to chase. But somehow, lately, Hawthorne keeps calling me back.
And maybe that’s the thing… it’s never really about the location.
It’s about the people inside it.
The last bits of cherry blossoms floating through the streets. Mochi donuts shared between hands. Vintage video shop game surprise…or just a random pocket of light shine one beloved bear lovie.
This family fit the soul of this neighborhood so perfectly. Warm, playful, a little nostalgic, a little attitude in the best way. The kind of moments that already feel like memories while you’re living them.
Even when I return to the same street, I never want a session to feel repeated. Different families carry different rhythms, different energies, different ways of loving each other. That’s what makes every story completely its own.
Sometimes family sessions feel less like taking photos…
and more like preserving the feeling of an ordinary afternoon before time quietly carries it away.

Sharing this reel feels a little vulnerable for me (I’m currently cringing over myself)

I’m honestly not the biggest fan of hearing myself talk on video… something about it always makes me want to hide behind my camera again.

But this little clip from my latest workshop felt very wholesome and also pretty spot on for my WHY.

Yes we talk about the tangible things
the tricks, the tools, the little hacks I’ve learned after years of chasing light and running after families with a camera.

But the real soul of my workshops is something else.

How to enter a session with a calm nervous system.
How to quiet that annoying imposter syndrome voice.
How to trust your gut and your artistic eye in a paid shoot.

Because the magic rarely happens when we’re just clicking the shutter because we think that’s what’s expected.

It happens when we slow down… get out of our own heads and when we actually see.

That’s the space I try to create in my workshops… plus me probably losing a bit of dignity trying to make kids laugh for the shot and cracking one too many bad jokes.

ESCAPE TO THE COAST 2025- Day 1- GEORGIA

Shooting in the fog, rain, cold, with rainy eyeglasses, and a sinus infection, beads of rain puddling on my glasses.....NO PROBLEM!

Seriously one of the most difficult assignments yet...but SO WORTH IT. Thanks again @escapetothecoastpnw for this incredible experience!

I don't think I've EVER laughed more than during this session. Hands down on my favorite models to work with EVER OF ALL TIME. If you haven't seen or experienced @georgia.ga.is.funny....you haven't lived. She is a phenomenal human and funny as shit, and you need to be following her.

Not to mention, first time working alongside my sidekick Deb @thesewildlings, also of "The Deb and Martha Show" soon to be in syndication....

a glimpse into this years @escapetothecoastpnw. This year the universe provided an incredible pnw windy mood night one and in true coastal fashion, the next day was warm and fluffy clouds filled the sunny skies.
