Etching Hoddevik - with Peter-John de Villiers

This short form documentary portraits artist & surfer Peter John de Villiers (aka @theshallowtree) following him along one of his favorite art styles: drypoint etching.

Several years ago PJ has decided to move to Stadlandet, Norway. Living in this very isolated part of western Norway has shaped his creative work and ignited his passion for surfing.

While living and working at @hoddeviksurfhouse in Stadlandet, Norway this summer, I got to know PJ (aka @theshallowtree).
Being an artist and surfer, he decided to move to the area years ago. When I met him and got a glimpse of his work, I instantly knew that I wanted make a to portrait of him and his art in my second mini-doc.

Here are some of my favourite frames of „Etching Hoddevik“ - in which PJ takes us into the world of drypoint etching and shows us how it feels to live in one of Norways most remote surfing communities.

It’s an honor to get the opportunity to illustrate the cover of @psykologtidsskriftet - this article written by Anne-Kari Torgalsbøen was really interesting to visualize.
The question raised is whether or not patients who pretend to be psychologically ill, should be considered mentally ill themselves.
