Last weekend I hit 30 years around the sun, this year has been a real game changer for me. Transitioning into a new phase in my life, career & officially starting my unc era now ☀️ 🎉 🎂

I had a new client ask me if I had family here.

I replied, saying yes... my beautiful partner Bel @bel_issimo , and all of our fur babies (Apple, Tofu & Harper).

She replied with “I meant do you have kids.”

I replied with a smile that I dug deep for, and simply said, no, we don’t have any human kids, but we very much consider ourselves a family ❤️

If you need it, this is your reminder that your life, your family, your body, EVERYTHING, can look however you want it to. If it doesn’t fit the “society standard” that doesn’t make it any less valid.

Photo is of Tofu and I at the @thestreetsbarbershop today, enjoying the company of @thestreetsbarber while getting my undercut trimmed.

This might not be your idea of how a 50yo woman should look, have her hair, or where she should go for her hair, but frankly, I don’t care... and neither should you.

Said with so much love (and strength), my friends xo

A great example of acting in the spirit of World Barber Day by The Streets Barber in Melbourne. Nasir Sobhani spends his days off giving free haircuts to people who are homeless or in addiction recovery, work he describes as "bringing dignity and hope to the homeless with the simple act of a free haircut." Be sure to get involved this September 16th and register your store at worldbarberday.com/register
