I’m not usually a fantasy reader but I have been looking for one to pick up. This was a recommendation for the 12friendsrec and I really enjoyed it! It was easy to picture the world building and what was happening.
I loved Bade’s character in this book. He is the god of war but underneath he has a good heart. I’m looking forward to continuing with the series @thetipsyreader

I thoroughly enjoyed receiving all of my cards with the sweet little goodies inside them! I also enjoyed sending out cards to book friends with a little surprise or two inside!

🎄 If I Was a Christmas Tree... 🎄

I absolutely had to jump on this trend after @ciara_isreading tagged me. It was so hard picking what to put on my tree! I kept trying to squeeze more stuff on, but I think I managed to capture the essentials: lots of tea, cozy reads, Pokémon, and definitely all four kitties! 🥰

Gandalf, of course, claimed the prime real estate right under the star topper, keeping an eye on everything.

🌟 6 before 2026 🌟

The Identity Crisis…booktour stop!

I’m so lucky this week that I get to share not one but two @novel.tours books with you and if you’ve been around for a while you’ll know that I love @nicolagillauthor
The Identity Crisis is her third book and they manage to all be so different and yet maintain a strong style of high quality writing. In The Identity Crisis we see Clare down on her luck and life really when a chance throws her a potential lifeline to pose as a celebrity, specifically Jenna, a much loved national treasure. At first, you think what harm can this do? And then her turn of bad luck escalates to a whole new level. She ends up helping a group of school students raise money for their poorly classmate…except its not her helping at all it’s the Faux Jenna, it’s real, but not authentic situation. As you can imagine, life for Clare gets very complicated very quickly and that’s before she falls for the lovely teacher, Sam.
I won’t give away the ending but I will say, the British public are savage and the way that @nicolagill writes is spot on…I’m so glad that she actually got what she deserved in the end (and yes, I was on her side- essentially she was only trying to help and we’ve all done that, right?!) all in all- I loved it!

For the wine pairing, I’ve gone with the Le Petit Poulet from @aldi…now without saying anything I hope you’ll be able to see why I’ve chosen this bottle for a story about pretending to be something else….#iykyk This one is the Le Petit Poulet from @pierrejaurant of whose wines I’m a big fan- good authors deserve good wine producers!
It’s got a rich finish which comes from the combination of pears and peach, with a little fruity twist; which is my nod to Malcom; he’d also love it’s bargain nature; afterall it takes one to know one. It’s also a perfect wine for two long friends to put the world to rights- I loved that bit between her and Meg as I didn’t see how it was going to get to there…but it did and good friends are always worth raising a glass to!
