I had another post planned for today, but my heart is too heavy to post book content. Most of the accounts I’m following are speaking out against what is currently happening which is giving me a little bit of hope that all is not lost.

Reading is an escape when reality is too heavy that’s true, but it’s also political. It’s important to speak up when something isn’t right and to anyone saying this space isn’t for politics and to keep it out of this community, you’re missing the whole point.

Sending hugs to anyone else who has a heavy heart lately ❤️

Hello!

Just a reminder that you can tag me in bookish challenges and giveaways!

I know for me, sometimes I struggle to decide who to tag because I don’t want to annoy anyone or tag people who don’t like it. So feel free to tag me! I love helping you win fun stuff! 😂

If you don’t mind being tagged either, feel free to comment below and find other friends who don’t mind being tagged. Maybe we can all update our tag lists for 2025! 😂 by @thetipsyreader

My Star Ratings ⭐️

I’ve been thinking about going back to star ratings and the majority in my poll last week voted they preferred star ratings. So I’m going to switch things up for now and give star ratings again. We’ll see how it goes.

I rate books on how the book makes me feel when I’m reading it. So these ratings are completely subjective and what is a 5⭐️ read for me, might be a 1⭐️ for you. I totally get it and I’m not offended at all if you have a different experience with a book than me. As long as we can respect each other’s opinions and respect the author’s work, I’m always open for book discussions. Feel free to message me if you ever want to chat about a particular book!

September Reads 📚

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
James

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Finlay Donovan Crosses the Line
The Last House on the Street
Stolen Tongues

⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cursed Princess Club: Vol. 1

I’m a day late posting, but these were my September reads. I’ve been in a bit of a funk lately. I haven’t been reading as much and I haven’t felt much like posting or being very active on Bookstagram. I’m not sure if it’s just that life feels super busy at the moment, or if I’m in a bit of a reading slump. My plan for October is scroll less, read more.

My favorite September read was James. What was your favorite? ⬇️

I’m a little late this month sharing, but these are the books I ordered from @aardvarkbookclub ❤️

I love Aardvark because it helps me read outside my comfort zone. I’m looking forward to both these books!

Are you an Aardvark member? What did you get?

Currently Reading 📖

I’m halfway done with Stolen Tongues and oh my is it so creepy! It had me hooked from the opening pages and I’m loving how eerie and atmospheric it is. I can’t wait to see how it’s all going to play out.
