Celebrating the incredible impact of the Courage Builders Blue Tech Externship Program—a powerful launchpad into careers in the Blue Economy! I had the pleasure of engaging in the learning, networking and powerful industry connections, in addition to serving as a judge in the team presentations. Students walked away with greater knowledge, confidence, and a strong network of peers, faculty, and industry partners—ready to take on summer internships and beyond. Congratulations to the winners of the Bam Ghost Patrol Project, earning top honors with a $1,000 prize! This is what experiential learning looks like—real-world, industry-connected, and transformational. Grateful to Nishita Roy-Pope, CEO of Courage Bulders for her innovation and commitment to preparing students for careers in renewable energy, ocean technology, life sciences, and sustainable innovation. Spring Break Excursion to Portugal!!!! UMass Dartmouth received a Massachusetts Clean Energy Center grant to expand upon the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth international exchange programs focused on offshore wind and renewable energy. The Student Affairs Global Experience program offers one-week immersive experiences in the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Portugal where students connect with industry professionals to explore offshore turbine installation, maintenance, and grid integration. The first of the Student Affairs Global Exchange programs launched yesterday with a group of New Bedford High School and UMassD students now on their way to Portugal led by Associate Vice Chancellor & Dean of Student Belonging, Kevin B. Hamilton, EdD, and Associate Vice- Chancellor & Dean of Campus Life, Heather Quire. This is a powerful learning opportunity tthat will expose students to careers in clean energy - hopefully enticing them to become future leaders in the field. Special thanks to Michael Goodman, alumnus Jacob Miller, Madan Annavarjula, Dean of the Charlton College of Business fortheir continued support of this program. #studyabroadlife✌🏼️ #careerdevelopment #renewableenergy♻️

It was a great evening filled with engaging conversations and meaningful connections between students and colleagues who participated as panelists during the Student Government Association “Shake the Ship” conversation. Students asked thoughtful questions about civic engagement, mental health, commuter and first-generation support, housing, parking, campus safety, and dining accommodations These conversations matter. Hearing directly from our students about their experiences and priorities helps us continue strengthening the student experience at UMass Dartmouth. Grateful to be part of such a committed and inspiring community. Thank you to everyone who supports and advocates for our students every day. #umassd #studentleadership #studentvoice #studentexperience

Excited to welcome healthcare leaders from hospitals and agencies across the region for UMass Dartmouth’s first Nursing Career Panel & Fair since before the COVID-19 pandemic! It was truly inspiring to bring together accomplished nursing administrators, healthcare partners, faculty, and students to talk about careers, leadership, and the future of nursing. Our UMass Dartmouth Nursing program continues to shine — ranked #3 among Massachusetts public universities and #6 in New England, with 96% of our 2024 BSN graduates employed. These outcomes reflect the dedication of our faculty, rigor of our academic programs, the strength of our partnerships with healthcare providers, and the incredible talent of our students. Nurses are often the constant presence in patient care bringing expertise, compassion, and steady leadership during life’s most challenging moments. With the demand for nurses continuing to grow, we are proud to help prepare the next generation of clinicians and healthcare leaders. Thank you to our Career Center team, nursing administration and faculty, and healthcare partners for making this important program possible. This is just the beginning of many more opportunities connecting our students with leaders in the field. #umassd #futurenurses #healthcarecareers

Honored to attend the 58th Anniversary College Now “Sharing the Dream” Celebration, where we recognized the accomplishments of our first-year scholars and leaders. The College Now program represents a powerful pathway for students who may have once questioned whether college was possible for them. Some faced academic challenges, personal hardships, or simply never had someone tell them, “You belong in college.” At UMass Dartmouth, we believe that potential should never be limited by circumstance. Through academic advising, mentorship, instruction, and a strong community of support, College Now helps students realize their dreams and achieve their goals. Because of this commitment, hundreds of students who once ruled out college are now proud UMass Dartmouth graduates. In Fall 2024, more than 170 students entered UMass Dartmouth through the College Now program, forming a close-knit community dedicated to academic success and personal growth. The program also provides over $200,000 in scholarships, made possible through the generosity of faculty, staff, alumni, and donors who believe deeply in expanding opportunities. I was especially proud of the inspiring voices who shared their journeys: Jared Louf Woods, University Police and College Now alumnus, our alumni speaker; Sam Riley, senior College Now speaker; Larissa Bernadeau and Jada Johnson Scott, first-year speakers. Each story reflected a powerful common theme- the importance of support, belonging, and discovering purpose. The program also recognized Linda Keith, retired College Now Program Coordinator, and Kelly Vasconcelos, former Administrative Assistant with an Award of Appreciation for their years of dedication and impact on students. Their journeys remind us that when opportunity meets motivation and hard work, extraordinary things happen. What a proud moment to have celebrated these extraordinary people. Looking forward to seeing the your continued impact. Special thanks to Dr. Sarah (Eckenrod) Cosgrove, Associate Provost for Student Success, Kristin Hagopian, Director and the entire College Now Team for their commitment and support of this special community.

UMass Dartmouth students are proving they are a force to be reckoned with! At UMass Dartmouth, we prepare students not only for careers, but for life beyond the classroom. Through hands-on learning opportunities, students gain real-world experience analyzing markets, evaluating funds, and making strategic investment decisions. We are proud to celebrate our UMass Dartmouth Student Investment Team, which recently won first place in the Student Investment Teams Competition, working alongside and competing with peers from across the UMass System with support from faculty mentors. Even more impressive, the student-managed investment fund has grown from $25,000 in 2007 to more than $2 million in assets today—a powerful testament to the talent, discipline, and strategic thinking of our students. Congratulations to our outstanding UMass Dartmouth team! Your hard work, expertise, and leadership continue to make our campus proud. 🚀📈
