Relaxed doesn’t mean unprepared.

One of the most overlooked skills in shooting is learning to remove unnecessary tension. You can be focused, prepared and ready to perform without being rigid.

Excess tension creates excess movement. Relaxed shoulders and body allow you to move more quickly, more naturally, and react more efficiently to execute the fundamentals without fighting yourself.

The goal isn’t to try harder.
The goal is to be ready—and let the training do its job.

Relaxed. Ready. Deliberate. #idaho #firearmstraining #2a

Through consistent, purposeful repetition, you build predictability.

When you know where your sights are going to settle on presentation—and where they’ll return during recoil—you begin to remove unnecessary confirmation from the process.

The goal isn’t to rush the shot. It’s to build enough consistency that you can trust what the pistol is going to do.

Predictability creates confidence. Confidence creates efficiency. And efficiency creates speed.

Your goals. Your pace. Your performance.

Understanding ballistics is more than knowing where to hold—it’s understanding why.

Muzzle velocity establishes the starting point. Trajectory shows us what the projectile does as it travels downrange. Your scope and reticle give you a visual reference for applying that information, and modern ballistic apps help bring the data together.

But the technology is only useful if you understand how the pieces correlate.

In training, we break down how muzzle velocity, trajectory, reticle subtensions, and ballistic data work together so you can better understand what you’re seeing through the optic and why your ballistic solution looks the way it does.

Know your data. Understand your reticle. Make the connection.#idaho #2ndamendment #vortex

Wishing everyone an awesome Memorial Day weekend 🇺🇸
For us at Skydive Skydown, this is an important one, as the majority of our crew are veterans — many of them combat veterans.
Today means something deeper to them and words really can’t explain.
We’re proud to stand beside them every day and every jump.
Today we remember the friends, brothers, sisters, and teammates they continue to carry with them long after the uniform came off.
Blue skies to the fallen 🪂

Why?? 🤣 Saturday I did my 2nd USPSA match and it was not my day. Every stage I had issues with my magazine and I did not have an extra. No worries though, I got a lot of malfunctions practice in👌🏽 But that’s the point, you learn what needs work. Not my best day, but I walked away better than I came.😎 Bad day on the range is a good day of learning! Always a student 🙌🏽 Glad I had a great squad that just laughed at me 😆 #fortresswarriors #uspsa #failing #training #jesus

Struggling with consistency or speed?
Most shooters don’t need more rounds — they need better fundamentals.
Master your grip, stance, vision, trigger control, reloads, and multi-target engagement.
