I’ll be sharing more about my @armytenmiler journey, but this reflection has stayed with me.

Watching this back, I realize I’m a little hard on myself. Learning that I may need extra support for my hips was frustrating. You put in the work, make a commitment, and hope your body will meet you there.

Staying committed to a decision when it becomes uncomfortable feels familiar. It reminds me of one of my favorite Army values: personal courage.

Courage takes many forms. Sometimes it’s showing up when you’re unsure. Sometimes it’s accepting help, adjusting your plan, or giving yourself time to recover. I’m learning that I can be committed to a goal and still be kind to myself along the way.

Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me through these miles. There’s more of this journey to to come….ill see you at the @armytenmiler in 2027. ❤️🏃🏽‍♀️

@armytenmiler in the rain, with my family there cheering me on. ❤️🏃🏽‍♀️

From the early morning start to seeing my little girl wearing my medal, these are the moments I’ll remember. Thank you to my family for showing up, standing in the rain, and celebrating this finish with me.

Mission complete! 🇺🇸🏅

The night before the Army Ten-Miler, and I’m on the couch questioning my decisions. 😂

Ten miles tomorrow, my first Marine Corps Marathon in two weeks, and rain in the forecast… Meanwhile, my husband is enjoying every second of these moments. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤣

The plan: take it easy, listen to my body, and save something for the marathon. Tonight, we’re laughing through the nerves. ❤️🏃🏽‍♀️

Getting ready for the Army Ten-Miler—my last long run before the Marine Corps Marathon! 🏃🏽‍♀️🇺🇸

“If the plan doesn’t work, change the plan—not the goal.”

This journey has taught me to adjust, give myself grace, and keep moving forward. Every mile is another step toward that marathon finish line. 💪🏽✨

Ten miles next. Then 26.2. Let’s go!

Army Ten-Miler weekend is here! 🇺🇸👟 A little expo time before tomorrow’s 10 miles.

This race means so much to me—a chance to honor my family’s military service, our shared commitment, and everyone who has worn the uniform. Proud to carry that spirit to the starting line.

Tomorrow, we put one foot in front of the other and keep moving. ❤️

Sometimes when you hit a wall, you don’t need to quit… you need NEW motivation. ❤️‍🔥

My amazing husband apparently decided my marathon madness needed an upgrade. 😂 Thank you, babe, for always finding a way to support the dreams, the miles and all the crazy ideas that come with them.

Meet my newest training partner: my @oakley @meta glasses. 😎🏃🏾‍♀️

And I already know exactly what I’m going to do with them…

Another workout in the books and this time my husband, @thetrue_ac joined me. ❤️🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️

We knocked out the first 4 miles running, and as we moved into mile 5, we introduced the run/walk method. I’m learning that marathon training isn’t just about running every mile straight—it’s about learning how to manage my energy, stay consistent, and keep moving forward when the miles start adding up.

Having my husband out there with me made this one even better. There’s something about having someone beside you when the workout gets uncomfortable that makes it a little easier to keep going.

Every run is teaching me something new about pacing, endurance, fueling—and honestly, my own mind.

Still training. Still learning. Still chasing that first marathon finish line. 🏅

Life got busy for a minute; family events, doctor appointments, and honestly, a little bit of getting in my own head about these longer runs. But the goal hasn’t changed: 26.2; my FIRST MARATHON. 🎯

My last long run: 14 miles ✅
Today’s mission: 16 MILES 😳🔥
And I’m kicking this one off with my husband beside me. ❤️

I recently read a Runner’s World article about 10 signs you’re ready for a marathon, and even though I’ve checked off a lot of those boxes, I’m STILL nervous about making it through the MCM gauntlets on time.

Two things from the article really stuck with me:

👟 Practice with the shoes and socks you plan to race in. The little things matter when you’re on your feet for hours.

🧠 Be prepared for things to go wrong and learn to adjust. Not every run is going to feel great, but being able to keep moving when things get hard is part of the training too.

So today isn’t just about 16 miles.

It’s about facing my fears head-on. 💪🏽

Here’s to 16. 🥂🏃🏽‍♀️
Here’s to doing hard things scared.
And here’s to getting one step closer to that 26.2 finish line. 🏅

Here’s the @runnersworldmag article I mentioned, check it out for yourself and see how many of the 10 signs you can check off:

Marathon training isn’t always motivational.

Some days I feel strong. Some days I’m excited. And some days the hardest part of the workout is convincing myself to start.

I’m learning that getting to 26.2 isn’t just about training my body. It’s training my mind to keep showing up when the excitement is gone.

That’s the part of this journey I want to show too.

Road to my first marathon……. 🏃🏽‍♀️

REAL TALK: Marathon training is HARD. 😩🏃🏽‍♀️and i owe this week to my wonderful Husband; Anthony has been a rockstar holding down Nyla on my long evening runs and being extra supportive - thank you honey

And I haven’t even made it to the starting line yet. 😂

This week’s assignment:

💪🏽 Monday: No cardio — arms + legs
🏃🏽‍♀️ Tuesday: 5 miles AM + 5 miles PM
🧘🏽‍♀️ Wednesday: Abs + stretching + physical therapy
🏃🏽‍♀️ Thursday: 10 miles total
🏊🏽‍♀️ Friday: Fun Friday; 2hrs of fun work!
🔥 Saturday: 14-mile LONG RUN
😴 Sunday: FULL RECOVERY

And somewhere between looking at this schedule and realizing I actually have to DO IT, I had a thought… 😂

This is getting real. And it’s getting harder.

Not just physically—but mentally. Because now I know what’s coming. I know what 10 miles feels like. I know what 14 miles feels like. And I know there’s no shortcut to 26.2.

That’s the part of marathon training I’m starting to understand. The race is 26.2 miles—but getting there is hundreds of miles of training, recovery, strength work, good days, bad days and convincing yourself to show up again tomorrow.

So this week, I’m not worrying about 26.2.

I’m just doing today’s assignment.

Marathoners, I need you! 👇🏽
What was harder—training for your first marathon or actually running it? And what got you through the hard training weeks?

I’m taking notes. 😂📝

One mile at a time. 🩷

Okay real talk: remember when you said you were all in this year? I’m right there with you.

And here’s the thing nobody tells you about being all in. It’s not the big dramatic moments. It’s the little ones. It’s showing up early. It’s one more mile. It’s letting your dog pull you through the miles. 🐾

Every morning I lace up, I’m answering that question all over again. And every morning, the answer is yes.

So this is your friendly reminder: you’ve got this. Whatever your goal is, keep showing up for it. The quiet work counts, and it’s adding up more than you know. 💛

Say it with me: we’re all in. Let’s go! 🏃
