My Princess Nyla Bear 🫶🏼

I don’t say it enough, but I know how lucky I am. I’m proud to be Dip’s husband, and I’m proud beyond words to be Nyla’s dad.

You two are the best parts of my life. Watching Dip be the woman, wife, and mother she is, and watching Nyla grow into this smart, funny, beautiful little girl gives me a kind of pride that’s hard to put into words.

Of all the things I’ve done and all the things I’ve accomplished, nothing means more to me than being able to call you two my family.

I’m a lucky man. I know it, I appreciate it, and I love you both more than I could ever explain.

A quick shout out to my beautiful wife, Sharondipity. 🏆💍

Monday-Thursday, I was down for the count, and she carried the load without complaining.

She worked her full time job, delivered 3 account presentations, trained for her marathon, took Nyla to school and picked her up, kept the house running, made sure everyone was fed, and somehow still kept a smile on her face.

Excuse me y’all; I am digitally documenting this special moment. 😢

The morning ride, on our drive to school, we were in standstill traffic; we were holding hands, laughing, and singing as usual. Then I told Nyla how proud I am to be her dad.

I reminded her how kind she is to our family and friends. I told her how amazing it is that, at only two years old, she already knows her address, our phone numbers, Mommy’s birthday, and Daddy’s birthday. I laughed as I reminded her that she’s the one who always makes sure I don’t forget my phone, wallet, keys, or work badge before we leave the house.

Then I told her how smart she is, how beautiful she is, and how blessed I am that God chose me to be her father.

As I was talking, I looked over and saw tears rolling down her face while she held my hand.

It caught me completely off guard.

For a two year old to be moved by words of love and encouragement says so much about her heart. She understood that she was being seen, appreciated, and deeply loved. That moment reminded me that children hear far more than we sometimes realize, and they feel even more.

I’ll never forget that drive to school. It was a simple conversation that turned into one of those memories I’ll carry for the rest of my life.

I’m so proud of you, Nyla. You are growing into an amazing little girl, and I couldn’t be more grateful to be your dad.

I thought this was something you could only unlock in marriage.

NOPE! Turns out it’s a factory install.

Nyla is giving the same full grown woman energy, and she’s not even old enough to understand the concept of time.

🍾One of my favorite moments from the weekend.🎉

We were sitting together, sharing a meal with many of my closest family and friends when my two year old daughter suddenly decided she had something important to do.

No one asked her. No one prompted her.

She looked around the room, got everyone’s attention, and orchestrated the greatest Happy Birthday song ever sang, like she’d been rehearsing the moment for weeks. 😂

Then came my favorite part.

As soon as the song ended, she proudly led the chant, “Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!”

Just a little girl who loves her father with her whole heart or as Nyla would say… I love you heart time Daddy.

Some moments make you smile. Some moments make you grateful. Some moments stay with you forever.

This moment does it all.
