Happy Gotcha Day to Belle! ❤️ 11 yrs of cuddles and belly rubs and adventures and her absolutely crazy behavior before it’s time to eat. I think our family group chat solely exists for pictures of Belle 🥰 (and daily Wordle results! 😅). Love you sweet girl!

Pittsburgh overnights two weeks in a row means quality Tyson time and miles along waterfront for me and some home cooked meals delivered for Tyson! Between class and rehearsal we didn’t get as much time together as I would’ve liked, but I’ll take a little time over none any day! Counting down the days until he’s home for Thanksgiving break. ❤️

One of my favorite summer adventures with Tyson before he went back to Pittsburgh was completing The Four T Trail in Portland: Trail, Tram, Trolley, & Train. We parked at the Oregon Zoo and made our way to the Marquam Trail to hike up to Council Crest Park, one of the highest points in Portland with incredible views! We continued on the Marquam Trail down to OHSU (about 4.5 miles total on the trails) to catch the tram down the hill- a first for all three of us and so fun! We refueled with Blue Star Donuts a few blocks from the tram station before catching the trolley portion, the Portland streetcar. We jumped off the streetcar at the library and went inside to explore for a bit. Then we caught the MAX light rail train back to the Washington Park Station- the deepest transit station in North America at 260 feet underground. We had so much fun seeing the city from so many new perspectives. The entire loop was SO well marked with 4T Trail signage along the way. I’m so glad Tyson saw the plaque from the first photo when he was leaving the zoo recently and suggested we complete it. All in all, the loop took us about 4 hours to complete and the cost of parking at the zoo, the team tickets, the bonus donuts, and the fare for the transit which covered both the streetcar and MAX. Highly recommend completing it! I’d love to do it again and explore even more along the way.

Soaking up as much time as possible with Tyson before he heads back to Pittsburgh soon. Hiked to Mirror Lake and on up to Tom, Dick, and Harry Mountain for some incredible views of Mt. Hood.

May absolutely flew by!

A great balance of work and family time. Flew with some great crews, saw the show Riley assistant directed at U of O, moved Tyson home from Pittsburgh for the summer, lots of walking, running and one beautiful hike with Tyson, amazing live theatre performances, read some good books, and bowled a lot- including a 196 last weekend! This time a year ago I was still nursing my sprained ankle and unable to run or walk at all, so I’m VERY thankful to be able to log so many miles this month. Final run today was 4.7 miles to say goodbye to another year, with Rick and the boys covering their own 4.7 miles around HV at the same time. Ready for school to finish and summer break to start!

Hey local friends! A little over a week ago we moved Tyson home for the summer, and now he’s hoping to get a job. He’s open to house, pet, and kid sitting throughout the summer. We’d also take any leads on other jobs he could do between now and approximately August 10th. A few places have already been a “no” due to the short duration he’ll be home, but we’re hopeful there’s someplace out there looking for summer employees. He appreciates any help! He’s working towards saving as much as possible towards next year’s rent in Pittsburgh. 💛🖤
