Volunteers of the Burbank, CA Animal Shelter Tues-Sat 10am-5pm 🐾 ❤️

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Nora is available for adoption! She is a perfect orange fluffball with a rare, placid demeanor. She’s cool with being upside down, getting kissed all over her face, and whatever food you give her. She stays out of her siblings’ quarrels and is incapable of taking a bad photo. She’s amazing at making eye contact and covering her poop- a really excellent kitten. Contact me to meet her! @thevbas #adoptburbank #fosterkittens

Well, of course I had to make this video of my dear friend Dumpling! ❤️🐾

I first knew Dumpling through my volunteer work at the Burbank Animal Shelter, and then, in one of the most surreal and heartwarming moments, she literally jumped into my arms when I saw her again at the daycare where I worked! 🥹

I never got the chance to make a proper closure video for her after her adoption, and I couldn't think of a more perfect time than now.

As I move on from my dog daycare and boarding job, I'm grateful for all the experiences I've had and all the dogs I've been blessed to care for. But one of the most thrilling and rewarding parts has been sharing these final moments with shelter dogs I've known and loved, watching them move on to wonderful lives after adoption, and seeing them thrive and make new friends during playtime.

I can say with confidence that Dumpling has truly MADE IT SPECTACULAR since her adoption, just like the theme song I've always given her. ❤️

I wish this beautiful girl the world. And although saying goodbye tugs hard at my heartstrings, knowing she's doing wonderfully and living her very best life absolutely thrills me to my core.

Be well, Dumpling. Thank you for the love, the pure joy, and the unforgettable memories. You beautiful girl. You made it spectacular. ❤️🐾✨

This small GSD girl is very nervous in the shelter. The noise and activity is pretty unsettling to her, so she’s very cautious when meeting new people. After some time, and a lot of compliments, she eventually let me show her some affection with some gentle pats. The fur is so soft and lovely! She’s quite small for her breed, which might be perfect for a fan of the type who may not have the space for the more average size. She’s absolutely stunning but needs a lot of patience and structure to feel confident- you must fight the desire to snuggle her immediately. It’s tough, she looks very snug-able. Regular exercise, a consistent structured routine, and keeping her environment small at first, until trust is built, is the best path for success in her new home. Once the trust is built this girl will prove to be an incredibly loving and loyal friend- I’d wager her Velcro tendency may even emerge. If you think you’re the kind of person who can step up to fulfill her needs in return for getting a beautiful best friend- head into #burbankanimalshelter to meet her for yourself. @thevbas #gsd #shelterdog #adoptable

#shelterselfie with stunning Ross
This young GSD was found up in the nearby mountains, so we don’t have any info on his history. Things we do know are all quite delightful. He’s an absolute looker. He’s got amazing ears. He’s very sweet- but a bit timid at first, but he’s learning to be brave. He’s a great kisser if you’re lucky enough to get one. He’s very very gentle when taking treats. He’s curious but cautious. He’s destined to be someone’s forever best friend. He’ll need some patience, structure and understanding from his humans. He’s not the dog you take to a friends house on day 3- he’ll need time to establish trust with a routine, predictable behavior and a limited environment. Once trust is built, his world can and should open up to include new experiences and adventures. If you think that’s a reasonable trade to make, Ross would love to meet you and see if you’re destined to be his forever. Head into #burbankanimalshelter to meet him. @thevbas #germanshepherd #shelterdog #adoptable

I had the pleasure of taking Denali on the Happy Tails Hike this morning. This boy did fantastic! He had that husky zig zag going on as he was leading the pack. He had a great time. He's going into foster this week with a great family. I'm hoping the best for them all and hope it's a fit. Go Denali!

He's running up that hill into the next steps of his life. Did you see what I did there? I had to...😉

Well, I officially feel like I'm living in a parallel universe today. 😂🐾❤️

I get to work and see Sandy (my old shelter buddy, formerly known as Lisbeth) boarding with us. She's out in the yard, so naturally, I go over to say hello.

As I approach with my arms outstretched, I call out, "Hiiii, Saaaandy!" ❤️

ALL OF A SUDDEN, Dumpling (another sweet dog I worked with at the animal shelter who was recently adopted) comes flying into my arms, jumping all over me and enthusiastically licking my face! 😭🥹

I'm standing there thinking, "DUMPLING?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!?!" 🤣❤️

Oh, my HEART! What a surreal and touching moment!

As a volunteer at the animal shelter, I spent time walking, hiking, and working with both of these sweet souls. And now, here I am at my job, unexpectedly reunited with BOTH of them!

There's something so incredibly special about seeing dogs you've cared for move on to their next chapters and get to experience happy lives with their people. Getting to see them again, surrounded by love, is such a beautiful reminder of why I do what I do. ❤️🐾

Sometimes life brings you the sweetest little full-circle moments when you least expect them. And today, these two gave me one I'll never forget. 🥹❤️

You've GOT to love Baby Boy!

If you're looking for a sweet, playful buddy to join you on walks, go for a run, play with toys, and just enjoy life with, Baby Boy might be your guy! ❤️

This boy has so much love to give. He does well with other dogs in playgroup, loves his chew toys, and one of the sweetest things about him is how he loves to show off and SHARE his toys with you. 🥹 Sometimes, he'll even put them right in your lap! Talk about a precious little gentleman.

And let's not forget his goofy facial expressions and wonderful personality! There's just so much to love about this boy. Whoever adopts Baby Boy is going to have one very special best friend by their side.

All Baby Boy needs now is someone to call his own. A loving home, a cozy place to rest, and a person to share all his toys (and his heart!) with.

🐝 Could Baby Boy be your honeybee? 🐝

Come meet this sweet boy at the Burbank Animal Shelter! He's ready to find his people, and he deserves his chance at happily ever after. 🐾❤️
