@thewovenworkshop June 4th A workshop created for the female artist. Weaving femininity and creativity to find a beautiful balance in life and art. A returning to your true self. Join us for a full day emersive experience to feel nurtured, inspired and empowered to take your art to the next level, to begin again or step further into your true self and what lights your soul on fire. A time to receive wisdom, knowledge and experience, guided by two female photographers as we share whole heartedly with openness our unique way of navigating the industry as a female creative. let us not just celebrate and encourage being strong this #internationalwomensday #iwd… let us celebrate, embrace and champion all the diversity that is being woman… may we be soft be vulnerable be intuitive be nurturing be creative be playful because these things {and so many more} are every bit as important as being strong and in making women worthy 💪🏼🫶🏼 {images from last year’s Woven Workshop with @laluphoto_perth @wild.flow.her celebrating all things female}

Have you ever thought about what it means to be a FEMALE artist? Have you ever thought about how very different it is to be a woman in the creative industry? It’s not an overtly masculine vocation so it probably doesn’t spark a lot of thought or intrigue; taking the time to ponder the idea that it could be so vastly different for female creative minds. We want you to know that it IS so very different and your feelings are so very valid. We see you, we see you riding this rollercoaster of creation, inspiration, joy, anxiety, overwhelm. @thewovenworkshop will show you exactly how to harness the rollercoaster and drive that thing your damn self. Who is joining us in March? We do look forward to sharing our wisdom, experience and genuine love with you. Photo @wild.flow.her

Day 1 of @gemma_peanut photo challenge and the prompt Green. Well if that ain’t a challenge. Love me a green. My bedding is green, my towels green, half my wardrobe is green and mostly well Christmas, Christmas is green. My work, very far from green. So here is my attempt to embrace the green. Not as green as it could be. Still a timid take on green but it’s there. Different edit for me inspired by my blooming fig tree and the excitement of soon being able to eat my favourite meal blue cheese and fig, it’s a meal right? Second image is the original unedited image for the double exposure. I tend to shoot for double exposures with one image being pretty over exposed. Not sure if this is technically a thing but it works for me and I am learning to embrace what works for me in my work. The power of photography. These photos remind me of my grief. 3 weeks ago my Nanna passed away while I was flying through the clouds on my way to her side. I missed her last breath and being able to fulfill her wish of holding my hand. Grief has felt lonely and also like a hand on my shoulder. Sometimes I wish it wasn’t there touching me and sometimes it offers me the greatest comfort in its silence and stillness. It is through photographs that I connect with Nan. We used to sort through her physical memories together and now I do it alone, her image preserved for me in these sacred stills. Im more energized than ever at sharing with the world the power of photography and how to capture the essence of soul creatively. I look forward to sharing my journey, my processes, my ideas and my eyes with those who invest in themselves and their art at our next workshop. With love, Bec x @wild.flow.her
