My favorite types of projects are the ones that immerse you in a world, surround you with passionate people and ultimately change your perspective about a sport or subject. Sufferfest was definitely that. Shot across five countries over the last year - all three episodes are live now. Huge shouts to @dylanwineland and @marcuscatlett who were my brothers in arms on this international adventure, @jah_he and @identiteecrisis for crushing the edit on this, @alps_films for making all our Chamonix days so smooth, and of course @kakiorr and @thenorthface for the continued belief in elevated long form story telling across their sports. When @philhessler gave me a call and asked if I wanted to travel the world to shoot a series on ultra running with @thinkless.studio and @thenorthface how was I ever suppose to say no to that?! So we gathered together a small crew and set out! I knew nothing about ultra running. In fact, I sort of despised running… But when you get thrusted head first into a world unknown, you’re bound to come away with a new perspective. And I think that’s my favorite thing about shooting documentaries. We had the privilege to document the best ultra runners in the world including @ruthcrofty @jonalbon @emilyhawgood and @joshwade as they made their journey to the gnarliest race known to human kind at the UTMB in Chamonix, France. Along the way we got to know these characters on a very personal level and learn what makes them absolute beasts of humans! Through the ups and the down, we shot every moment along the way and had an unforgettable time doing it! Stoked to have written and edited this year’s 2026 @wasatchmountainfilm festival trailer. One of our biggest goals over the past couple years at @wasatchmountainfilm has simply been to elevate the quality of the films being submitted and programmed. This year honestly felt like a big step forward for us. Between the incredible work coming out of Utah and the films submitted from filmmakers around the world, the level of cinematography, rich storytelling, emotional depth felt stronger than ever. Let @thinkless.studio @thenorthface into our life for a few days for a taste of Cumbria! Tea, cake, hail stones a bit of wind&rain and good old graft.
