It’s not always about more light. It’s about better light. A subtle change in quality and direction completely transforms how this artwork is seen — revealing a perception of the artwork that was almost lost before. A simple demonstration of just how much considered lighting can change a space. 💫 The Start of the Story💫 A look behind the scenes at our Altrincham project as three floors of this home begin to take shape. The project includes a complete basement with gym, sauna, steam room and bathroom, alongside the main living spaces, master suite, master ensuite and family bathroom. Once a project reaches site, our role continues. We attend regular site meetings to review progress against the designs, work through details with contractors and trades, coordinate with our suppliers and respond to the inevitable questions that arise as a house moves from drawings into construction. We also keep our clients updated throughout, making sure they understand where the project is up to, what decisions are approaching and what we need from them. Alongside this, our team is coordinating finishes, bespoke joinery, lighting, furniture, procurement and the details needed for the next stages of the project. There is a huge amount happening behind the scenes before you ever see the finished room. This is where it starts. 💫 Altrincham, Cheshire Full-service residential interior design by TXTURED

There’s always something new to learn. Today we had the pleasure of visiting Think SONA, where Simon and Nicola gave us a tour of their incredible showroom and introduced us to the possibilities of home automation. Lighting, sound, technology and the way they can all work seamlessly within a space... it’s fair to say it blew our minds a little. For us, visits like this are invaluable. The more we understand about every element of a home, the more considered the conversations we can have when working with our own clients on their projects. And just like furniture, some things really do need to be experienced in person. The photos simply don’t do the lighting and sound justice. A huge thank you to Simon and Nicola for taking the time to show us around and share their knowledge. We came away with plenty of ideas! 📩 info@chattels-designerfurniture.co.uk 🖥️ www.chattels-designerfurniture.co.uk 📞 01244 322 280 📆 Tuesday - Saturday: 10am - 5pm 🛋️ Sunday & Monday: Closed 📍 42 City Road, Chester, CH1 3AE #HomeAutomation #InteriorDesign #SmartHome #ChesterInteriors #DesignInspiration

For @thinksona Cheshire experience centre, @lewisknox_ were asked to create a space that felt immersive, welcoming and atmospheric – somewhere clients could experience integrated technology within a carefully designed interior, rather than a traditional showroom environment. From the beginning, the ambition was to move away from the feel of a typical technology showroom. Instead of obvious displays and demonstrations, the space was designed to feel closer to a home, allowing lighting, sound and automation to be experienced more naturally and comfortably. Everyone wants to know what’s the difference and which is better, Lutron or Crestron. Most of the what gets written online comes from those who only sell one or the other, that’s not an honest comparison, it’s a sales pitch wearing a review! We install both, have done for over 20 years. The truth is the performance difference is close to nothing, and the real decision comes down to keypad feel, scope of a project and warranty preference. I wrote an honest breakdown - link in bio.

Most Lutron pricing guides online are useless. Vague ranges. No real numbers. Written by people who have never specified a system. I have been installing Lutron for over 20 years. I know what it actually costs and why. So I wrote an honest guide. Real 2026 prices. Real project examples. Including the things most installers would rather you did not know, like how a keypad choice can swing a project by £25,000, and why the more expensive Lutron system often costs less than the entry level one once you go beyond five or six rooms. Link in bio if you want the actual answer. I’ll be writing more of these over the coming months - so if there is a topic or something you’d like to see let me know! #Lutron #LightingControl #HonestAdvice #AccordingToSimon SmartHome LuxuryHome

One of our favourite partnerships @thinksona We’ve known the team at SONA for a long time now, and they were one of the first businesses that truly showed us what world-class standards, attention to detail and genuine passion look like. From the way they operate, to the decisions they make, right down to the way Simon talks about the brand… (if you know, you know.) Having our artwork featured in a space like this is something we’re incredibly proud of. For us, it’s reassurance that the standards we hold ourselves to are recognised by people who share the same obsession with quality. Always a pleasure working alongside the team at SONA. www.cheshirepaint.com

I am so excited to share with you this short video series discussing some of the finer details from our Tower Mill project. This project was a real labour of love working to deliver the most lovely and unique apartment to our clients. In the entrance hall we wanted to create a sense of arrival with an oversized piece of art as soon as you enter. A layered lighting scheme, play of different finishes and materials makes this an evocative space to start exploring the rest of the home. We used a wallcovering that is continuous from wall to ceiling giving the space a cocooning feeling. If you are new here, make sure you hit follow and turn on those notifications to stay tuned for further episodes in this series! Thanks for watching!
