Phew - what a weekend! My first time exhibiting for the full length of a yarn show and, aside from the fact that my voice died on me and I couldn’t really run my stand myself, it was just the best weekend! I had poured my heart and soul into working towards this event and I’m so incredibly delighted that so many of you now have wee @songbead markers to enjoy knitting - or wearing! As I said to a few customers before my voice truly packed up, I’m a jeweller who turned my jewellery into stitch markers for my hobby and am now turning those stitch markers back into jewellery. Thank yous are due for a number of people - firstly Antje and her incredible team of volunteers and staff - I have never been so well looked after at a weekend event - craft fair organisers take note!! Thank you of course to my friends and family, without whom this weekend literally would not have been possible - @designs.madebyjo, @scotknit Mum, @the.creabea who helped me string up So.Many.Sets. in the couple of weeks before - and my incredible sister @catrionahewitson who took on so much of the fair for me, giving up pretty much her entire weekend to support me 🩷💜🩶

Thank you to new mum-of-two Nina @rainbowheirloom for collaborating with me on my show special - we still have a few sets left if you missed out or couldn’t attend the show, one of us will be listing them shortly! - which so many people agreed was the perfect colour for our inspiration, Margaret McDonald of The Glasgow Girls. Thank you to my delightful neighbours - I’m so sorry I couldn’t chat to you more but I hope to see you at more yarny events in the future! Shout out to @edencottageyarns, @tangledgalashiels, @thejournalofscottishyarns, @mothy.and.the.squid, @cookstoncrafts, @nervusfibre, @thewoolchemist, @thirdvaultyarns and @prideofneurodiveristytartan - and many more gorgeous souls.

Ironically, I’m currently on the train back to Glasgow right now as we are attending the @royalnationalmod tomorrow, before a few days away for the school break. Touring the UK was such a joy and I met so many wonderful people, including some who came bearing BEAUTIFUL GIFTS.

Two of these yarns from @thirdvaultyarns are hand dyed in the colours of gods from the Fallen Gods series... on the left the colours of sunlit fur and dappled wings: Skedi, god of white lies, pictured in this lovely art gifted by @pulledfromorbitart

And on the right the blush of roses and the darkness of thorns, fresh, bright and scented with beauty: Makioron, the god of roses in Sunbringer. These are available from Third Vault Yarns along with some other incredible colours if you are a crafter of weaving and knitting, or any other art of threads.

In the centre is a new colourway set for the colours in the incredible A SNAKE AMONG SWANS colour by @tomrobertsillustration ... I don't know what to name it... any ideas?

How many RPG books can you fit into a suitcase? AT LEAST THIS MANY!! These are all the games we brought back with us across the globe. From dexterity mini golf to rock climbing to classic Ian Livingstone Choose-your-own-adventure Fantasy… we found a LOT of good stuff!!

Excited to go through everything more in depth and thank you to all the creators and authors we met who continue to make such amazing works of art. What a fantastic first UKGE and cheers to many more!!

My first ever knitted piece with my first ever indie yarn purchase!!

🧶 Nessie by @thirdvaultyarns - Incredible yarn honestly! And some perfect moody/nerdy colourways. I’m thinking of using the other hanks to make some gloves and maybe a bolero type thing.

🪡 Hood Scarf by @purlsoho - super easy to understand, I do have some crochet experience. I do wish the hood was larger though.

One day I’ll start with some full black pieces but it’s so hard to crochet with, I’m hoping knitting would be easier.
