I got some great mail! 📫️

Really excited that these arrived in time for @Glasgowschoolofyarn. I enjoyed designing these autumnal stitchmarkers & this very cute pumpkin cat! It took me back to playing conkers as a kid and jumping to crunch fallen leaves. 🍂 by @thirdvaultyarns

I was so entranced by Earth Matters I couldn't help but take inspiration from it, the painting Today and Tomorrow by Clare woods resonated deeply, it's fragility and sense of rightness in everything belonging to a cycle, here today and gone tomorrow, but not really gone just part of everything in a different way. I had to give a good attempt at bringing the painting into the medium of yarn.
These are also going to be joining me in just 3 days at Glasgow School of Yarn! Three skeins of a variegated colourway sit at an angle on open skeins, incorporating pink, browns and leafy greens. by @thirdvaultyarns

I was lucky enough to go be excited, entranced and extremely inspired by soil the other day. The Earth Matters exhibition at the @rbgedinburgh is amazing and i definitely encourage a visit before it ends on the 1st of november.

The way different artists have explored soil and its connection to us in a cyclical and livegiving way is fascinating and I've gone away with a whole new pile of books to read.

Also props to the gardens having mobility scooters for the public to use, it made it so much easier for me to get around. You can book them beforehand and specify if you want to collect it at the east or west gate or walk in and borrow one if they are available from the west gate on the day. The picture shows 3 semitranslucent hanging made using the pojagi technique with shapes in various shades of brown that flow in layers. They are hanging offset from each other. by @thirdvaultyarns

Merchant City in it's full glory ready to bring to Glasgow School of Yarn with me next weekend as the show special colourway. It was a lot of fun to take inspiration from the historic building (The Briggait) which is GSOY's new home and re-imagine it as yarn.

Will I be seeing you at GSOY? A cropped image of 3 skein of yarn in the same colourway placed partially on top of an open skein. The yarn colourway is variegated, incorporating silver, soft blue, browns and ecru with green and brown speckles. by @thirdvaultyarns

An exclusive colourway for @glasgowschoolofyarn , inspired by the fantastic new home for the yarn show! Combining the historical energy of Merchant City and the Briggait. You'll be able to grab them on my stand next weekend!

Have you got yout tickets yet? There still some available and the Briggait is a much more accessible venue with level access and more.

Bright trails of light and fire, with colours interweaving with each other as they travel. In the same way that stories may carry from one campfire to the next ...

Light Trails is a shawl pattern that I'll be releasing soon, suitable for most weights of yarn. Doesn't the fingering weight sample look bonnie in Tale Weaver? It's a great pattern for using that precious skein of fingering weight as it both shows off the colours really nicely whilst breaking up the expanse of colour gently. a shawl slightly folded on itself in places in vibrant purple teal and lime green lays out on a table, showing trails of doubled slip stitches travelling from the left to top right. At the bottom of the image is a curl of knitted fabric still on the needles showing the same doubled slip stitches in reddy oranges and gold. by @thirdvaultyarns

Some new minis! I don't often do brights, but this one felt like it was very much needed. I wanted to add some brightness to the dreary wet weather, so I came up with something almost completely opposite of it. 🌦️ by @thirdvaultyarns
