SAVE THE DATE‼️Friday, Sept. 4, 6-9PM‼️Join us at the Opening Reception + Panel Discussion for AAI’s upcoming exhibition, 𝐀𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝟐.𝟎: 𝟗% 𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐧, 𝟑𝟑% 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐯𝐞, a cyber-collective project initiated by Frank WANG Yefeng (@this.frank.wang)

Moving between collaboration and constraint, 𝐀𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝟐.𝟎 explores how online networks create new possibilities for labor and connections while obscuring certain forms of subjectivity, authorship, and participation. Through a decentralized chain of image-making, the artist collaborated with 33 internet-based creators to produce portraits of himself, each shaped by the interpretations of others.

In conjunction with the opening reception for the exhibition, AAI will host a panel discussion featuring Lucas Blalock (@lucasblalock) and Triton Mobley. Together, the artists will explore how the rapid development of technology continues to challenge established understandings of art and human experience, while examining how different experiences of producing art might contribute to rethinking technology today.
