I was adopted. Now more than 400 kids in Georgia need your yes.

For the last decade I’ve been doing my best to help kids in foster care get adopted. I’ll never forget a young man who was about to age out of the system. He had lived in more than 16 foster homes. I looked him in the eye and told him I would help. Since then I’ve traveled the U.S., Africa and other countries to share why adoption matters.

Every one of them is legally available for adoption right now. If you’ve been praying for a child, I believe there’s more than one way God wants to bring that child into your home.

Family, there are more than 400 kids in Georgia's foster care system who are legally available for adoption right now. Not someday. Now. And families are especially needed for older kids, teenagers, and brothers and sisters who want to stay together.

Held at Lancaster Bible College, Walk in Love supports Bethany’s Safe Families for Children program, which works to keep children safe and families together when parents are facing challenges such as poverty, homelessness, or health concerns.

The more I encounter people carrying things we may never fully see or understand, the more committed I am to reminding them that they are not alone and that they are worth more than they think or have been told to believe 🙏🏾

This past Friday, I had the opportunity to speak at the Labor of Love Conference at Atlanta Metropolitan State College to young adults, many who are navigating housing instability, second chances, and all sorts of circumstances.

I am grateful that I got to remind them that they are worth more than what they have survived and to share parts of my story 🙏🏾🤞🏾

I think that some agencies have changed what they’re able to do because of the change in refugees being approved to come here to the US, but there are definitely still kids already here in the US waiting in shelters who need to be placed in foster homes. In Michigan, our agency is still actively recruiting for foster homes and independent living homes to meet this need. #refugeefostercare #refugeeyouth #refugeesupport
