Preparing for an international event also means preparing the people who will welcome its guests.

Abuja is preparing for the World Public Relations Forum, and @niprabuja decided it best to have a conversion with the hospitality stakeholders to consider how we prepare for our global guests.

Today, I’ll be bringing my voice to a conversation about hospitality, reputation and the responsibility that comes with welcoming the world to Abuja.

Fashion brought us together at the Nigeria Fashion Week Welcome Cocktail in Abuja, and your Abuja female MC held the mc at the event

Business leaders, policymakers, and some of the sharpest voices in the creative economy and fashion industry, all sipping, mingling and talking about African fashion as more than culture but as an industry with real commercial and global power.

We talked fashion in the same breath as business, investment, tourism and policy, because the future of African fashion will only be built when all of them work together.

Such a beautiful room and another memorable night as an MC in Abuja. 🎤✨

Being an MC in Nigeria means you can show up for an event and somehow be the one waiting.

I left home in a rush because I had a call time to meet.

My dear… I got there and realized I was basically the only person there. 😭😂

Luckily, H-Medix was next door, so I went to get some snacks because at this point, something had to enter my stomach. And this was actually my first time trying their snacks!

But please, if you’re one of those people that likes to arrive late for events, this is me begging you as an MC: start coming early!

An Abuja MC for every kind of room even when the room is a padel court. 🎾

Transcorp Hotels held one of the biggest events in Abuja to celebrate the grand opening of the Padel Court in Transcorp Hilton Abuja, giving a home to one of the fastest growing sports in the world.

It was such a beautiful experience, especially because it gave me room to switch to sports MC mode.

This event had range!

Outside the court, the garden area gave guests room to mingle, eat and enjoy the official moments, including the ribbon-cutting.

Inside the court, I had to help guests understand and enjoy padel a little better.

At one point, I asked the crowd, “What year was padel invented?” only to realise that the answer was sitting inside my notes, not inside my head. 😂

Nobody knew the answer, but everyone jumped in to guess, and that was the whole point.

That moment made me laugh, but it also reminded me why preparation matters. As a professional MC, you may not have every fact at the tip of your tongue, but once you understand the subject and your audience, you have enough to adapt in the moment and keep everyone engaged.

Congratulations to the @transcorphotelsplc and @transcorphiltonabuja team on giving Abuja a new place to enjoy padel.

Another one in the bag for this Abuja sports MC 😎

A random workstation as an Abuja female MC.

Most people visit an art gallery by quietly moving from one painting to the next.

I had the privilege of experiencing my first one with a microphone in my hand.

Abuja’s art community gathered for The Rooms That We Carry, an exhibition of paintings and sculptures exploring the life experiences, memories and emotions that shape who we become.

I spoke with artists about the stories behind each piece, curators about the intentionality of the collection, and visitors who shared their own interpretations of the pieces they connected with.

It was fascinating.

By the end of the evening, I realised my favourite way of experiencing the art through the insightful and beautiful conversations it created.

For a first visit to an art gallery, @retroafrica × @xperience_wr couldn’t have given me a better introduction
