Fish Island Social Hub has a website 🌳

We’ve been busy bringing people together through movement, music, family activities and community events. Now there’s somewhere to find it all.

You can read about our National Lottery-supported programme, see what we’ve been doing and find out what’s coming next, including our Christmas SEND holiday club plans and Social Sounds for emerging musicians.

Free and affordable activities, practical support to take part, and money going back into the community.

It’s our first version, launched tonight, and we’ll keep adding to it. Have a look and tell us what you’d like to see happening at FISH.

Thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund and National Lottery players for supporting this work, and to everyone helping us build it.

Hackney Church. Caloroso. Pizza.

Heading to Hackney Church?

You already know what comes next.

Hackney Church. Caloroso. Pizza.

Before the event, after the event, or if you simply need somewhere nearby for food, we’re here serving Neapolitan pizza in Hackney.

So if you’re seeing Mercury Rev, The Mountain Goat, Dan Whitman, Joy (Anonymous) this October, then you know where to come.

And if you’re organising an event and need to feed a crowd, Caloroso can cater larger pizza orders too, with the same quality we serve in the restaurant.

So next time you’re heading to Hackney Church, you might want to add pizza to the plan. Make your reservation through our bio to avoid disappointment

It just makes sense.

Yesterday was World Mental Health Day. But we know that for many people, mental health is about much more than a day. 💗

So throughout October, we’re offering spaces to people who might otherwise find it difficult to join us. Perhaps cost is a barrier, you’ve never stepped inside a yoga studio, or coming to class hasn’t felt accessible for whatever reason. There’s a place for you here.

Tonight at Fish Island: Restorative Gong & Sound Bath with Alberto Colombo, 7–8pm. An hour to get comfortable, rest and settle into sound, together.

Everybody’s invited. Bring the village. Let’s look out for each other — we’ve got you.

DM Brian at @socialyoga_ldn for a space at tonight’s session. Please repost or share this with someone who might benefit from coming along.

Our restorative programme also includes Annie’s Restorative Flow & Yoga Nidra, Sonic Yin with live sound with Julia, and Ecstatic Dance.

All these sessions and our programme of 30+ classes across Fish Island and Hackney Central are included in our £74.99 monthly unlimited membership, with monthly guest passes and no minimum contract.

Class packs are 10 for £70, never expire and can be shared with friends. Whatever your membership or pack, we’re all yogis. This is our studio. We will never fine you.

Yoga, your way. Supported by the National Lottery Community Fund 🩷

Memberships, packs and the full schedule at www.socialyoga.co.uk.

60 Pizzas. 1 Wedding. Let’s Go!

This is what it looks like when the Caloroso team has 60 pizzas to make for a wedding.

Fast hands, hot ovens, a bit of organised chaos, and plenty of jokes along the way.

The goal was simple: make all 60 pizzas fresh, keep them warm, and get them delivered in time for the celebration.

Most importantly, it is the same pizza we serve in the restaurant, made with the same care and quality, just on a much bigger scale.

It takes timing, teamwork, and a kitchen that knows how to move when the pressure is on.

For a small independent pizza restaurant in Hackney, catering a wedding like this is the kind of challenge we love.

If you are planning a wedding, party, or event and want pizza catering in London, this is what Caloroso can do.

This is just part 1 to get the pizzas made, stay tuned for delivery!

The Caloroso Family, in Tomatoes

We told you we had an (un)healthy relationship with tomatoes! So naturally, we turned the whole Caloroso team into them in preparation for Halloween.

Head Chef.
Chef and GM.
Chef.
Floor Manager.
Kitchen team.
A little family portrait, Caloroso style.

Behind every good pizza in Hackney is a slightly questionable relationship with tomatoes.

We’ll make you a pizza you can’t refuse.

Thanks to @thegreenbaskett for the amazing beef tomato

We’ve rounded up some of the things on our radar this October, from Shoreditch to Hackney, Bethnal Green and Poplar. Consider this your little monthly hit list of things worth booking and getting out of the house for.

Expect good food, good music, interesting people and a few things you probably won’t find anywhere else. ✨

Our next dinner party is Thursday 8 October, where we take over a restaurant and bring in our own local queer team, from the chefs to the entertainment, for a night of great food served with a little community magic 🍽️🧡

And your evening goes a little something like this…

6PM. Doors open, grab a cocktail, meet your mates, dates and some new faces.
7-9PM. Dinner is served; a 3-course set menu with live entertainment throughout, (so work commuters, don’t worry if you can’t make it for 6!).
9-11PM. Time to mix it up. Swap seats, meet more people, deepen those connections and head home feeling full & loved.

All happening at @unlock_e3, Fish Island.

Food by the outstanding duo @twiceshy__ & @ellieshaww, with entertainment from our QE mother @rhysspieces_.

THURSDAY 8 OCTOBER.
Ticket link in bio.
(Food orders needed by the weekend before 🙏🏽) xx
