Speaking to Yvonne felt like a class in the rebelliousness of art - questioning the structures that define so much exhibited work and the expectations we place upon artists to maintain a cohesive body of work, refine an artist statement and categorise their creativity into distinct chapters of a lifetime.

Instead, Yvonne follows her instincts and allows the energy of making to flow directly onto the canvas. No two pieces are the same because no two days are the same.

Yvonne is fuelling her passion through the simple act of following what makes her feel alive. By sharing what results, that creativity grows exponentially through the support, insight and curiosity of others.

Her work is, I believe, a testament to the rebelliousness that rests within artists - and to how refusing to take your creativity for granted can propel it towards extraordinary and thought-provoking places.

I’m planning to host the first event in a couple of weeks. I just have a few things to slot into place to make it happen. It will be in Belfast although future events will be in various locations.

Do say hi if this appeals to you, and tell anyone else that you can think of that might feel the same.

Joy in the making.

Presenting the Wonder & Joy Gift List 25

A small celebration of the makers, artists, doers and dreamers who pour heart into what they create.

It took me much longer than I expected, because there were far too many wonderful small businesses to choose from.

Hand crafted. Thoughtfully made. Filled with story, soul, and love.

I’ve narrowed it down to some of my favourites, the ones that made me smile, pause, and feel something.

I hope they bring you as much joy as they bring me.

I’m sorting through some stuff in my space (which I share with @thisisyvonnemoore ) in @thecourthousebushmills . My eye was taken by these original ink works which are mounted, but not framed. Let me know if you want one! #originalartforsale #originalartwork #irishartist #art #ink #inkpainting #bushmills @fanadart
