A few photos from today’s beautiful Sound Bath. It was such a pleasure to be invited to play alongside Alex at Frequency Diagnostics in this gorgeous secret garden in Walthamstow Village. A truly special setting for an afternoon of sound, connection, and relaxation. If you missed this one, be sure to catch the next session on Tuesday 7th July, where Rob from Arconic Sound will be joining Alex for another immersive collaboration. #SoundBath #SoundHealing #WalthamstowVillage #frequencydiagnostics #arconicsound CommunityWellbeing Relaxation

FLASHING IMAGES ALERT Recorded live at one of our rehearsals, this is an excerpt from a track called The Dream of the Replicant, the full version of which is up on our website at https://rm23.uk (link in bio). This is a pure, made in the moment recording with no layers added in post production. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #rm23_uk #rm23london #electronicmusıc #improvisedmusic #soundart #soundscapes #cinematic #liverecording #liveimprovisation #foundsounds #fieldrecording #acousticinstruments

Explore!! Just under 1.5 years ago, four very different people met in a room numbered 23 on a sound art course. Little did we know just how well our four approaches would work together! Now, myself and @leeroyhalloween @thisway123 Patricia McGahan and @shaunm79 are building an audience for our improvised soundscapes - a refreshing change for me as I don’t have to ‘hold space’ as I do during a gong bath meditation. I’m still using #lightlanguage though. Now RM23 is here on Instagram as rm23_uk. Give us a like and a follow! It all helps when you’re on the road to something new. #experimental #electronic #soundscape #sounddesign #fieldrecording #foundsounds #objects #gongs #vocalimprovisation #newdirections #hushhour Photo credit: Gary Franklin

I was a mere 19 years old studying Graphic Design at what was then St Martins School of Art when I became entranced by sound and visual effects. We were fortunate to be allowed - encouraged even - to pursue a thesis topic entirely unrelated to our course. I chose to explore special effects in film and television, and was granted access to the BBC’s Radiophonics Workshop as well as the prop shop (where the chemicals used made my head spin!). I was inspired by giant tape loops and banks of cutting edge electronics- including the Fairlight CMI synth, which was among the earliest electronic music workstations with an embedded sampler credited for coining the term sampling in music. It was an incredible piece of kit, costing as much as a whole house to buy. How times have changed! It ‘only’ took me nearly 40 years to reignite my fascination for SFX. Here is my gong and electronic setup and @leeroyhalloween ‘s multi pedals and keyboards. #electronics #soundscapes #sounddesign #foundsounds #fieldrecordings #improvisation #electroacoustic #rm23london #hushhour @noewacreativemusic @taliaaugustidis

I’m sitting in my car before tonight’s #quantumgongbath @zenyogalondonse5 watching the rain run down the windscreen and hoping it will stop when I have to unload. Ouf! Meanwhile, I’m excited about tomorrow nights launch performance of RM23 in St Mary’s Tower, Hornsey. It’s been a long time coming, and there’s standing room only at the moment. #experimentalsound #improvisedmusic #soundart #rm23london #soundalchemy #creativity #workingtogether @thisway123 @shaunm79 @leeroyhalloween
